Hello Im new on these forums but I been using the GP2X since the day It came out. I never really tried the GNGeo2x, but today I decided to give it a try. When I go to run any game such as Art of Fighting (aof.zip) I keep getting a message that says " Unknow or unsupported romset. Check it and your romrc". What does this mean and how can it be fixed? I love Neo Geo games and it would be great if I had some help getting them running.

Thanks

get romcenter (www.romcenter.com)
get datutil (www.logiqx.com/Tools/DatUtil/)
get gngeo (http://gngeo.berlios.de/?page=download)
extract romrc from gngeo
extract datutil

run conversion

D:\temp\gp2x>datutil.exe -f rc2 -o gngeo.dat romrc

Processing romrc:
Loading the file into memory (first 8.0KB)...
Identified the file as being 'GNGEO romrc' format.
Specified the save format as being 'RomCenter 2.50'.
Loading the file into memory (282.45KB)...
Calling the 'GNGEO romrc' pre-parser/tokenizer...
Storing the tokenized dat within the actual dat structure...
Processing complete!

Loaded 475 games (0 parents, 0 clones, 475 others) and 0 resources.

Note: There are some warnings for the processing (see datutil.log for details).

Note: Fixes were applied to the data file (see datutil.log for details).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saved gngeo.dat in RomCenter 2.50 format.

Note: Some game information could not be saved (see datutil.log for details).

copy dat to datas dir in romcenter dir and use RC to check your files. No crcs will match so your file names and sizes have to be right; you'll have two sets in each - old/new mame sets; if you only want one, delete from romrc what you don't need and create proper files again

Easier: download roms in the Mame repositories, not NeoRagex :)

There are two kinds of rom format for NeoGeo games in the Internet: Mame and NeoRagex. If you look for "neogeo roms" in, say, google, you'll find neoragex roms that do not run on gngeo. Look for "mame roms" and/or use the same .zip file that you'd use in Mame4all, Fba2x...

try clrmamepro (http://www.clrmame.com/download.htm)

Or download a torrent that has the supported romset for gngeo. Or edit the romrc file to suit your files.

Bottom line, your files are out of sync with gngeo filename reqs.
