Does anybody have a VirtualDub settings file (vcf file) for MoviePark? There is one here for the free Divx player.

If there is a settings file on the entware site, I can't find it. They have detailed instructions with screen shots, but no settings file (and looking at their example, I guess piracy is no big deal to them).

I downloaded a program called MovieLink from Entware, you point it to a file, select fullscreen or letterbox mode, choose the audio mode and it encodes it for you.

There is a HUGE picture quality difference between what MovieLink & VirtualDub produce See a quick demonstration here.

The settings to make virtualdub play ball (I recommend virtualdub 1.5 or higer as it has a better resize filter) are:

Audio: 44.1KHz 16Bit Stereo under Conversion
MP3 22KHz 40Kbps under Compression
(make sure Full Processing is activated)

Video: Decimate by 3 under Frame Rate
Resize to 320x240 or 320x176 with lanczos3 under Filters
DiVX 4.12, 64kbit/sec under Compression

--jo "directhex" shields

Thanks for all the tips.

A cool thing about VirtualDub is that it can record from a video source, like a TV tuner card. Record with the vcr timer program and have it save the video to an SMC card via a card reader.
