IndieGO!

Looks good but for the price you probably could get the Xbox 720 or PS4 , that's a guess on their price of course.

it seems to just be a plain HTPC, am I missing something? and the price seems correct...

So, this thread was started back in Feb 2013.

Seems to be back on KS though now;

Did it not happen on Indiegogo website?

Looks ok, a Rpi or Odroid based console, with their own OS based on Debian with EmulationStation, EmuLA and more.

I like that can also play discs from your AmigaCD32, Playstation and PC ... and that can stream your Steam to it.

Any thoughts on it, seems to be well backed already

Their Operating System, "AEROS" looks Interesting: http://www.aeros-os.org/ . Its an hybrid distribution between AROS(http://aros.sourceforge.net/ An OS "aiming at being compatible with AmigaOS") and Linux. "The R3.5-ISO is an 4in1 OS. You get access to Linux, AROS x86, AROSm68k and WIndows apps out of the Box"

This does look an interesting device but I'm saving my cash for a Pyra.

I sound like a broken record but with all of these devices I doubt their longevity, for me it's the community behind them that counts.

That's why I'll always stick with ED, how many Chinese consoles that have come out since the Pandora are still getting OS updates?

The Pandora is still getting new software and updated emulators after all these years.

I completely agree Ian.

Still quite like it for the device itself, even if doesn't keep longevity. Then the unique app store side of things will fall off but the ability to still play your discs and roms will remain.

I figure, if I hoard up a few of these gadgets now ... when Pyra is launched I can sell them all and have some monies in my pocket to purchase that :)

I would be interested to see the quality of it's Saturn emulation though.

I've always fancied one but just don't have space to dedicate to another console.

Ooh ... a little Pandora reference in the latest update from this project.

Greetings to the almighty Retroguru crew!
If you are into retro consoles and homebrew games (Dreamcast, Pandora, Amiga ... ahh basically every console) you may have seen and most likely enjoyed their exciting and professionally made games such as their latest release named Fruit'Y which will be ready to play (pre-installed).

from here

Yes ED :)

Nice little linky though to the Dragonbox from the latest update in the IndieGO! campaign

See here
