If he really did pre-order 50 pandoras since the start then good for him. Doing so has helped finance the project and I don't think a lot of people at that time would have been able to risk paying and losing the price of 50 pandoras.
If it is legit then it looks quite tempting for anyone not already preordered and if there are no longer any slots free. You're getting it for less than what OP are currently charging and most likely you're getting an early spot in the queue as he must have preordered when they were £200+vat.
Actually he didn't order yet.
I ask him about how many bought.
Here is his answer.
"Hi, 4000 have been made and been sold so far, I'll be getting them as soon as the new batch is ready so quite soon, early next year, if not receved by 30/03/10, I'm giving a full Money Back, but can't see that happening."
This is rediculous.
you pre-paying for Pandora Handheld console to be dispatched to you as soon as available with a full Money Back Guarantee if not received by 30/03/10.
Be the first to own it.
If I recall correctly it is against paypal's policy to buy things that will not ship within over a month, which was why the pre-order failed with paypal last time.
His "auction" has given NO JUSTICE to the Pandora.
It's over simplified the entire system. Who would want one with a page like that?
As for preorders, they must be shipped within 20 days.. With the auction, he said by 30/03/10.$
Its an expensive risk, when you could just order or OP yourself.

Pre-sale listings are those that describe items for sale that are not in the possession of the seller at the time of the listing.
eBay permits pre-sale listings only on a limited basis. The seller must ensure that the item will be shipped within 20 days from receiving payment. The seller must clearly indicate within the listing that it's a pre-sale item with postage no later than 20 days after payment, including the date on which the item will be available to post. This text must be no less than the default font size of the eBay Sell Your Item form. Currently, the default font size is HTML font size 3.

Pre-sale listings are those that describe items for sale that are not in the control or possession of the seller at the time of the listing. These listings generally consist of items that are sold in advance of a delivery date to the public.
eBay permits pre-sale listings only on a limited basis. The seller must guarantee that the item will be available for dispatch within 30 days from the date of purchase (i.e., the day the listing ends or the date the item is purchased from a shop front listing). The seller must also clearly indicate within the listing the fact that the item is a pre-sale item with a delivery date that indicates the item will be dispatched by the 30th day from the end date of the listing. Additionally, this text must be no less than the default font size of the eBay Sell-Your-Item form. Currently, the default font size is HTML font size 3.
The exception to this policy pertains to tickets. eBay permits sellers to list tickets that they have bought even if they do not physically have them in their possession as it is common practice now for event organisers to send out their tickets close to events. However, eBay does not permit the sale of tickets where the seller could not possibly have bought or have any claim on the ticket because either (a) the event does not exist or (B) the tickets for the event in question have not been put on public sale, or made available through fan clubs, debentures or any other means.
Breaches of this policy can result in a range of actions, including:
Listing cancellation
Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
Limits on account privileges
Loss of PowerSeller status
Account suspension
About why I didn't read the full description: the important part was not in bold, and it was the Royal Post, and I'm in the USA so therefore it doesn't really apply to me and that is where I stopped.
Honestly I would try to contact the OP team before trying ebay... I've been ripped off there before.
I actually have some I plan to sell, but I won't list any until I have them in hand. When they do arrive, I will let the forum know so those interested can have a shot at getting a batch one unit!
In the case that this guy isn't a "shop" to the team like craig mentioned before (~"keeping more units for resellers"):
Yeh the team should do something against it. First of all it is kinda rip-off as others pointed out and a risky deal.
Worse however is, that he blocks free spots which could be taken by other developer right now (50 units... if these were 3 I would talk different about it).
Most ebay people who buy it will probably be some uber noobs which won't do anything for the community.
//Edit: Where exactly did you find the "50"? Whatever... even if only 10+ its too much
This is not in the pandora way. Ripping off money...close the order of this guy. It is also a pretty good chance the ebay seller is a member of this forums.
I doubt OP thought some enthusiast wanted 50 Pandoras for themselves, it's obvious some or all of them where going to be sold on and OP where willing to take his cash, also, the seller has to have put up a serious amount of money up front (say £250 x 50 = 12k+), and is probably wanting some return on it soonest, while it's not ethical to sell something you do not have yet, it's not illegal, the seller admits they don't have the units yet and will refund, I am more concerned that this might be some scam artist who never ordered 50 units from OP, and has no intent to supply any, that could reflect badly on OP, but if he does have 50 units on order, then fair enough (it might even be Craig  )
saying they should have their order cancelled is silly, it's people who put money up front who make Pandora possible, I don`t see where the outrage comes in, caution would be better indicated, has anyone actually ordered 50 units in one hit?
It crossed my mind that he might be a legit reseller with a bulk order. And if he really did front 12k+ for 50 units, so be it. It's not like people haven't had time to secure an order (lol), and like Hobbyman says, sales are a good thing for all of us.
Legit or not though, it does smell a little fishy.
