i'm going to port a video game i made for an atmega 168 to linux, and my atmega used a peizo speaker for the sound....i need a way to make bleeps and bloops, but i need total control of the frequency in hertz, and durations, etc!

is there a library that can do that??

it's the ONLY way i can make ANY good music, as i'm terrible with instruments and music making software!

If you use SDL, you can write raw audio to a buffer. If you keep track of the phase properly, you should be able to have it play whatever sine waves / sawtooth / etc. you like.

Let us know how beep works out.
