I like shoujo (comedic romance), magical girls, magic, sci-fi (non-Voltron or Gundam rip-off), comedic, and non-dark action anime and manga.

I just finished watching Da Capo. I thoroughly recommend this to any enjoyer of shoujo. It's about this laid-back guy who has seven girls surrounding him, and one girl (who happens to be his cousin) relentlessly chasing after him. The guy also happens to be a novice mage with the power to see other people's dreams and make Japanese sweets from his hand. There's also a robot girl (one of the seven) and various weird creatures. Get it from http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/204.html (Bit Torrent)

If you like weird shoujo, Midori no Hibi is great. It's about a guy who's viewed as a deliquent, though he never picks on the weak. But since everyone's afraid of him, he could never get a girlfriend. Then one day he wakes up and his right hand was replaced by a girl (from the waist-up) who has a crush on him. I suggest the manga over the anime - you can get it from http://www.snoopycool.com/manga/midori/index.htm (Direct Download!)

I like Cowboy Bebop, and DBZ.

Not really into anime, once I start watching one I can't stop, but I don't really know any of the creaters etc.

I don't know much trivia either, I'm pretty poor at memorizing small details.

Only anime I've watched is the whole series of evangelion, that was so addictive. And ghost in the shell. I've been meaning to get hold of a copy of wonderful days for a while though.

Really Shoujo Anime is Girls Anime (Since Shoujo is the japanese word for girl)

While Shounen anime is Boys anime.

I like a little of both, I did enjoy Trigun and such, but still did love Full moon wo sagashite. Over all i like not to violent anime. I LOVE Psycadelic Anime (EVA, Paranoia Agent, Lain) and Comedic anime's that's psyked out (Excel Saga, Puni Puni poemi, Full metal panic fumoffu).

All Shoujo I know of are romance and romantic comedies. Are there non-romantic shoujo?

By the way, if you like Full Moon wo Sagashite, you'll probably like Da Capo. Though I must admit, I like Full Moon wo Sagashite a lot better, with Da Capo a close second.

I watch a bit of both too - romantic / comedic stuff as well as dark stuff. I haven't seen much of either anime or manga, but I thought the Akira anime was overrated (but the manga was super good) and Ninja Scroll rocks my socks. Oh! My Goddess ... meh... I've seen enough of that kind of cliche. Ditto with Chobits. Hentai? Depends.

Kite!! I have that waiting to watch, but certain parts of it threw me off (underage sex for one). I enjoyed Mezzo Forte despite the two completely pointless sex scenes though, and this is by the same creator - tell me in advance though, is it particularly nasty stuff? (I'm thinking guro, scat, or rape)

well, i watched both versions, both are good. Well, IIRC, there are 3 sex scenes in there (the disclaimer on the begining says, all models portaied herein in the sex scenes are aged 19 or more, but everyone knows, the girl isn´t supossed to be), was a long time tho since i watched the 18+ version. But one is just a sex scene, one is a rape scene and one is..........can´t remember that one, i think it was some kind of "blackmail" sex. But it doesn´t matter, you can surely skip the second one, it doesn´t improve the story.

BTW: I didn´t watch Kite because of the sex scenes(I mean, come one, its rape! Rape sucks!), i just watched them because i somehow like the story (Girl forced by a police officer to comit crimes)
