I'm running Windows98se and am having trouble formatting mt SD cards fo FAT32, there is only one option to format cards (FAT16).

Does anyone out there know how I can format my two SD cards using W98se and a card reader?

Many Thanks.

This might explain your problem, XP format tool command line option:

/fs:file-system : Specifies the file system to use FAT, FAT32, or NTFS Floppy disks can use only the FAT file system

I think that 98se uses a hacked up floppy driver to access USB storage devices, so good luck with that.

For all you users, who may want to stray away from the comfort of your gui  :p
Try this Windows XP Format Command

BTW to use this you will have to be at the command prompt.  :p
(Start > Programs > Acessories > Command Prompt)

It is quicker to type cmd into the [Start] > [Run] box.

Its "command" in 98 not cmd by the way.
If in doubt try and find a peripheral like a digital camera that takes SD cards, it worked for me twice

I thought you noticed that we were talking about XP. I do know the difference.

I am currently running:
Desktop: win98se, suse 9.1, winXP Pro sp1, winXP Pro sp2 (3 hard drives, don't ask)
Laptop 1: win98se on 6.2GB HD
Laptop 2: win98se on 4.3GB HD, win95B on 512mb CF
Laptop 3: win95B on 815mb hd, win95B on 512mb CF

Edit: also XP = (Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt)

Win9X = (Start > Programs > Command Prompt)
