I was attempting to edit the asound.conf file so that I can use a BT headset that I purchased and I am unable to edit, move or delete any files or folders in the main drive.

I found threads on here that indicate an earlier version would prevent editing when thunar's view is set to "details". I've tried "details" "icons" and "compact list" with no change in my permissions. I also have only one user set up.

What am I missing here? I have found nothing recently related to this topic.

    Also I'm running firmware 1.75 update 5

Just to make sure: You are opening the file with root priviliges?
(There should be a red warning at the top of thunar and mousepad: "Warning, you are using the root account, you may harm your system")

If not, type "sudo thunar" or "sudo mousepad /etc/asound.conf" in the terminal

That worked! While I'm new to Linux I am surprised no one else made a similar post.

Now my headset is paired and I'll get about 5 seconds of a song with audacious until it starts to fail. I get an ASLA error "snd_pcm_hw_params failed: invalid argument"

I'm lost again. I know there are detailed fixes on other threads regarding BT audio. Let the digging begin!
