New version available at gp2x.de.

Main changes from version 0.3:

Added sound volume turning off when energy saving is active.
Added kernel modules detection (see the Readme for more details)
Solved bug that disabled energy saving when there wasn't an SD inserted in the GP2X.
Added compatibility with Firmware 1.2.1.
Expanded documentation including setbl and autorun instructions.
Added sample script autorun.gpu

Has anyone measured the current consumption before and after using this to see what the difference is?

This sounds like a great idea .. I'll add it to the startup on my SD card. Tho' why the heck it isn't included as part of the OS is beyond me... You'd think with a device like this you would need some APM on there .. !!

That's one of the things i plan to do (possibly tomorrow) with the latest version.
Preliminary test results

Using the same two 2500MAh batteries fully discharged and charged with the same GP2X First Edition and following these steps:

-Plug USB cable to computer and GP2X and turn on GP2X
-Enable USB network
-Activate (or not) energy saver proccess
-Leave untouched on GP2X main menu
-Launch a script that sends a ping to the GP2X every 5 minutes and writes a log file the ping result and the time

-Check the log and compare the time stamp of the first ping with 100% success and the first ping with 0%success

Results
- Without energy saver: 2 hours and 40 minutes aprox.
- With energy saver at 20 Mhz CPU speed: 3 hours and 35 minutes aprox.
