We currently use the free server space from our ISP for hosting images on our eBay items (also use eBays free images but they can be compressed and look poor)

eBay have now said that these need to be on https server and as the space is free our ISP isn't going to move it over to https so we need to find an alternative.

Any suggestions welcome, only need about 500mb storage.

Something where we can upload the images via ftp and then just create links in bulk eg:

https://webhosting.com/image.01.jpg
https://webhosting.com/image.02.jpg
https://webhosting.com/image.03.jpg
https://webhosting.com/image.04.jpg

You can tell your ISP https is free:
  • letsencrypt.org
  • ssl.comodo.com/free-ssl-certificate.php
(I was not able to put clickable links, otherwise I'm flagged as spam)

Certificates might be free, but having obtained a certificate, using it isn't.

Regarding serving solutions, I'm out of the loop as to where the current state of the art is, but I'd hope any decent ISP that still gives you webspace should fit your needs. I'm not sure which country you're from, and when it comes to ISPs paying in your local currency is usually preferable I've found. The people that sell you a domain usually will help you 'build your website' and offer server space for a cost, so those are worth considering too.

Or you could use a free image hosting sites like imgur, but that doesn't support ftp upload as far as I've seen, and will give your images seemingly random urls.

I hate to change our ISP but it's looking like that is our best option.

Now to find one in the UK with no traffic shaping, censoring of sites and a bit of free hosting space.

There's no need to change the ISP you use for access. As I say hosting and domain servers are an established business - mine costs me in total each year about what I spend every month for my access ISP. I'm currently on 1and1 for my domain name, and some associates handle my MX record coverage - I don't actually host anything on that domain. I could probably do it all through 1and1, but I prefer to support the little guy. I don't know whether they want more business though - I get the impression it's all a sideline and potentially a distraction from their day jobs.
