Sorry if this has been cleared up already, but after lots of forum searching and thread reading I still can't find the answer.

Q: Sooo - if people's CC orders are refunded and have to reorder - are they the only people getting the 'upgraded' memory Pandora units? Or is everyone getting the 'upgraded' memory units as a result of the delay to the entire project?

Blah blah blah. Whatever. Be happy, fuckers.

EDIT: either way, you get to have a Pandora. But everyone gets the upgrades

Hey, so the OMAP chip is sold now with 256MB of RAM instead of 128MB?
Because that was always the limitation, that TI only offered OMAP chips with 128MB integrated, wasn't it?
Or have the dev's put additional 128MB external?

???

It wasn't a limitation, it was simply too expensive. It's PoP RAM stacked onto the OMAP.
Read the Information Index sticky for further info.

You don't get to be snippy because somebody didn't search unless you've done the search yourself and pointed to the information.

Atako: This explains a bit better how the RAM is assembled onto the OMAP PoP. Until very recently, TI only sold chips with 128MB attached. Now they are also selling chips with 256MB, and this is what we are getting. All the delays have worked in our favor in this instance, as this upgrade would not have been possible if the Pandora shipped over the summer like it was supposed to.

Are you sure TI sandwich the chips? I was under the impression TI just sell the OMAP itself and you sandwich the chips together yourself. That would be the best solution, then it's your choice.

I think this topic has reached it's natural death, the topics been answered, and now all we'll get is meanlingless posts and flames (as some posts already are).
