I've found a load of extra campaigns for this excellent port, and they are shown in the games list, but when I try to start one of them (including the three which come included with the game) it just defaults to one of the other two. Am I missing something? Does the port play other campaigns?

If the campaigns are in individual files, try moving a new one in place of one of the originals - that'll help determine if it's a selector limitation or the engine itself.

Good idea, but as far as I can work out, the two built in campaigns aren't in the 'missions' folder where the others seem to be, so there is nothing to rename them too...

The code does look in the missions directory.

The original SDL port seems to have the same problem - I'll look into it

Edit:

Found it, The code does look in the missions directory but tries to load it from the directory above.

I'll fix it but as a work around put the files in cdogsdata/share/games/cdogs and cdogsdata/share/games/cdogs/missions

Where did you get the extra missions? The original C-Dogs homepage seems to have gone :(

I had to browse around a fair bit - but I found these:

http://www.uta.fi/~antti.hukkanen/cdogs.html - has a few extra campaigns...
http://www.sykografix.com/articles/article20/index.html - loads of nice screenshots, but dead links...
http://web.archive.org/web/20050204172348/...onny/readme.txt - the original readme from the internet archive...

It's a shame that the archive doesn't seemt to keep zip files - looks like Ronny zipped up all the campaigns into one file called "cpns.zip" at some point. I can't find it anywhere though...

Thanks for the fix for the extra campaigns - I'll try them out tonight!

Oh - also, I think I found a bug (maybe) - the enemies throw grenades which don't explode?

EDIT: jbrodack - That'll teach me to spend half an hour composing my post...

You're a star...

How long does it take for stuff to appear in the archive?

Anything from hours to days, depending on when EvilDragon gets a chance to approve it.

I know this topic has been dead for more than 2 years but many people out there are still looking for cpns.zip...

Since this is the first link that pops up on google if you type cpns.zip c-dogs i decided ill post the link here...

Well... the only cpns.zip file i had was corrupt and i had to run it trough like 3 repair programs to get it working... Ill upload it somewhere and post the link here shortly!

Rapidshare link which will unfortunaltely die after 10 downloads or 90 days:
http://rapidshare.com/files/201467287/cpns_repaired.zip.html

Megaupload which also dies after 90 days without download (recommended link):

This game is so addictive and well made, it's always a first choice everytime I turn on the GP2X. :)
