There have been certain android downloads that have been hammering the same servers as the Ångström repo since... well... forever. I did some digging and discovered there is a mirror.

If you edit the *-feed.conf files located in /etc/opkg/ replacing the "http://www.angstrom-distribution" part with "http://feeds.angstrom-distribution" in each of the files; you'll get access to much faster servers for downloading and installing ipks. You have to edit them as root since they are in etc, but if you're into ipks, you probably already knew that.

For those of us running from SD and not minding the potential pitfalls of installing from the Ångström repo, this is a huge benefit. I suggest that EvilDragon include this simple change in a Hotfix. It helps tremendously.

Just thought I'd pass on this tidbit.

What version os Angstrom Apps would one need from the repo as 2008 is no longer available?

Could someone make a disk version of the repo for archiving such as those by OSDisc.com (of which I have a few).

I see that in SuperZaxxon Beta5 this is still "www.angstrom-distribution" and not "feeds.angstrom-distribution".

Would you still recommend changing this, or are the performance problems of the "www" URLs solved, so that this is not necessary anymore?

Edit: "opkg update" was quite fast, when I just tried this. Only took some seconds to download all the package list files. I remember that some time ago, this took ages and even timed out on the www URLs.
