Adult Games

Someone, somewhere, is going to realise someday (just like I did after watching the oddly sexual Techmoan video) that the Pandora's nubs are incredibly well-placed for a very immature yet very innovative mammary simulation minigame.

Though the example is rather silly, I'm being 100% serious. What are the rules for adult games on the Pandora stores? Will there be an 18+ section or will adult games be banned from the repositories?

Much as I think people abhor the idea, I think there are likely many others who'd welcome the adult game genre. I won't be searching them out (most of the freeware ones I've played are horrible anyway) but if something exceptional becomes available, hey, why not?

In a perfect world, entertainment involving the subject of sexual interaction and release wouldn't be frowned upon at all. Unfortunately, humans are all about hypocrisy and making universal feelings and biological processes taboo. I believe this is why we have so much teen pregnancy-- we're too scared to tell our children where they come from when they're four years old (if I meet one more set of 'stork' parents I think I'll blow a gasket), so when they're fourteen they find out for themselves-- "a plus sign means I passed, right?"...

Look at what we've done. We're beautifully designed creatures (be us by chance or by God), and we hide half of our lives from each other because we live in a vicious cycle of shame. I've always believed human social norms needed massive restructuring

Personally, I find some of the adult games I've played to feel more realistic in some ways than non-adult games. Kinda like the difference between watching a rated-G movie vs a rated-R movie. Whether people like it or not, sex is a part of society, and I find the games that include sex aren't sugar-coating their world, thus they feel more 'real'. Obviously, it's usually overdone in because of the nature of the genre, but my argument is being stated in a "relatively speaking" manner.

Admittedly, most adult games are kind of 'out there' on one level or another, but I don't want games to feel too close to reality anyway (this goes for ALL games). Games are an escape, something fun to do (haha) to pass the time.

However, I state this not just for adult games, but for ALL games: if the gameplay sucks, no amount of anything else in the game will make up for it. Adult games are unfortunately plagued with bad gameplay 90% of the time, so whether it appears in the repos or not I don't really care much. Just make sure that if they are there that there's plenty warning that it IS an adult game or has adult content.

what about that game that was submitted to a previous competition, where youre a naked dude, and youre saving naked chicks, not sexual enough for you?

Lol that's right, we've already had a game with adult content, huh? I haven't played it... but probably will when the time comes. Not only that, but it had media coverage by Pandora Press, and perhaps others. I guess that answers the question, eh? :D

That game was pretty tame by comparison, tho. AFAIK there were no sex scenes in that one, were there?

LOL, rules? What rules? You can develop or port whatever the hell you like.

Apple really has people brainwashed... rules indeed.

OK, let me clarify that I have no knowledge of any rules that the different repositories might have... I guess that is up to the repo maintainers.

But if you make it people who want it will find a way, so just do it. Taste is up to the people who download it. How does people rubbing their nipples on the pandora (silly as that sounds) reflect on the pandora as a device all?

@sony - that kind of stuff will get the author in trouble with the law, so doesn't really need to be enforced by repo maintainers.

How did VHS beat Betamax? PORN. How is internet beating television? PORN. How will the Open Pandora beat its competition (whatever the heck that is?)? PORN.

The defense rests, your honor.

I burst out laughing... that's... well that's a mighty good point

IMHO, there should still be rules against child pornography and rape games, because if developed it will taint Pandora's overall image.
I'm 100% against real child porn because a child doesn't know and can't prevent such an activity from happening. There is no such thing as "consensual child pornography."

I'm not opposed to fantasy games containing the subject material you mentioned because they're fantasies, and I think people have the right to fantasize about whatever the heck they want, and if they feel like sharing, you can take it or leave it. You and I might not like it, but unless the creators of such material are actually committing crimes to create such material I don't think it should be banned. Age restricted, perhaps, but not banned.

I would think it would taint Pandora's overall image more if you start restricting something advertised as "open".

I'm fully in support of more 'openly adult' software for the Pandora. I had honestly never thought of the nubs in this way... but now I'm keen to become more intimately acquainted with my... uh... 'nubs' ;) Gosh, they even sound naughty!

... and we have two of them. How... perfect.

I've visualizing a simple simulation right now.

WTF Sony.. of course, thats wrong, disgusting and illegal already.

Child porn involving real children is illegal, but most other subject matter is not. Like Tj said, it's all about consent. You can't make and distribute video of actual rape or child sex, but if it's all drawn, it's all legal.

ha! the pandora, teaching people the wrong ways to touch a lady since 2010! still, at least you cant pinch and twist a nub...

there are already a few adult oriented games that will work on here already like leisure suite larry so theres plenty of room for more

I hope people realize that an "adult" game is not the same as "porn" or a "porn" game, which is what most people seem to be discussing here. (and if the latter is the desired topic, than the headline should be changed imo).

Creating a sensible adult game requires a lot of thought and effort actually, if it is not done with the right intention it will end up bland and stupid. Just like nude photography, if you don't do it properly it will just look like porn, which is a BIG difference.

(watch the video B-Zar posted if you have not already)

On that note, I have yet to see a good adult homebrew game.
