theres a nice a2dp headset on woot today for anyone interested
(topic to be closed at midnight)

... thanks for all the details there.

Ok for future reference, if anyone is going to post "good deals" or other interesting items on here, post INFORMATION ABOUT THEM, what it is, does, looks like and at least the bare minimum of A LINK TO IT. [/rant]

wtf more info do you need? its a a2dp headset which should work on pandora, and its on woot. woot will give you all the info you need and if it doesnt, be a smarty and use google, and there are no sublinks from woot. its simply woot........as in www.woot.com

A2DP is a Bluetooth Profile. So, he's stating that you can get a Bluetooth Headset from Woot.com for $19.99.

I think you need to first post a link to Woot! and mention that it is only for US and Canada. I'm pretty sure the shipping will be more than $5 outside of the US and Canada.

Also, you should mention that Woot.com is a deal a day sort of place, every day they have one deal for the entire day until it sells out. The deal is usually a really really good deal. Some days they have 'Woot! offs' were they sell an item until it runs out and then put up the next offer. Today is a one deal one day though, so you have until 11:59pm central US time.

We do not ship to Canada, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, nor to Maggie's Nipples, Wyoming or Assinippi, Massachusetts at this time.
Lol, I guess Wyoming is no long in the continental United States. I live there and have ordered a few things from them, everyone always picking on Wyoming. . .

this is great for anyone who enjoys listening to music with the sound quality of a can & a string
Sound quality isn't too great over BT huh? That doesn't surprise me and yet it does because there are a ton of BT headphones out there.

for some odd reason i expected more knowledge out of pandora forum members....

Not everyone has used (or cares about) Bluetooth. And most of the world can't buy stuff from woot.com. So yeah, best not to assume too much about what people will or won't know. :)

Well, I think 99.99% of the time you'll be safe as long as you post a link to the item.

Since it's woot you should point out it's only for 21/11/09, or maybe you should spell out November 21st only, the US goes month/day/year where the rest of the world goes day/month/year. I think the rest of the world makes more sense in that regard, I always put the first 3 letters of the month in like this 21/NOV/09 so no matter where you live it makes sense.

There are a lot of ways to screw up information when passing it along.

Those look of very cheap quality. I don't think they would sound good at all. For my choice I'd rather pay a little bit more and get either this headset or this headset from Amazon.
I had the Motorola S805's, they were cheaply built and the audio was god-awful. Sure they came with a plug to use them as normal headphones, which i did until the jack broke too. Bluetooth audio is completely not worth any money, even the 'higher quality' sets are crap. The headphones themselves won't make a difference, the bottleneck is bluetooth itself.

with any luck my motorola s9 ones will work, they work with the iphone but not that well, phone needs to be like my top jacket cheat pocket to grab a signal for playing music, put it in my jeans and it cuts out like crazy, wierd tho cause its fine when in a call in my pocket, just not music

A2DP sounds great, if your bluetooth device does not support A2DP, however, you will want to kill yourself.

Mind linking what device you used to listen, and were you sure it was in A2DP mode? Because the difference between them is amazing, A2DP is quite listenable.

Strictly speaking, bluetooth is 3Mib/s (BT 2.1 + EDR), which accomodates nicely for standard stereophonic waveform formats.
Code:
(44100Hz * 16b * 2) = 1411200b/s = 1.35Mib/s
The problem is though, that bluetooth links in my experience rarely reach even that speed. It's kind of sad.

EDIT: Corrected bonehead mistake. BT is not 11Mib/s, 802.11b is

That's theoretical best. As in unshielded antenna on both products, 2 inches away from each other. Even just having the device in your pocket cuts maximum bandwidth down like 30%. And if you aren't using A2DP, a large portion of the bandwidth is cut down even more for microphone (which is never used).

A2DP quality is quite high, but I don't think people realize both the headphones AND broadcasting device need to use it (even popular stuff such as the iPhone doesn't support A2DP, but then again, iPhone is shit).
