    Mplayer Selector

Strange...maybe I just wasted everyone's time...don't know why it seems to have fixed my MusicPlayer though - maybe some sort of problem in my particular GP2X. These are the strings in MusicPlayer that lead me to believe it used mplayer: stream_read: WARNING! s->buf_pos>s->buf_len /.mplayer...

    Mplayer Selector

I could be wrong, but I do think the GP2X's music player does use the mplayer in the background...for one thing, I saw plenty of references to it when I looked through the MusicPlayer binary, and replacing the mplayer solved my lockups too... I'll definitely add the one Purist pointed too in my...

    Mplayer Selector

FastMHz.com Presents: __-Media Player Selector for GP2X (Release R2)-__ GP2X Version Tested: MK2 w/Firmware 2.00 Description: My GP2X (and apparently quite a few others) will crash randomly while playing media, so I compiled this selection of different mplayer replacements from the GP2X...

What's The Latest In Jotstick Replacement?

I think you're right...makes sense anyway...it's just hard to play any 3d game without making those kind of movements, so I'm going to stick with sidescrollers and leave the 3D to my PC.

What's The Latest In Jotstick Replacement?

Holy Cow I fixed it! I did some fancy maneuvering of the stick until it "popped" back into place...the GP2X logo now is horizontal instead of diagonal, and it's still a little sloppy, but it works reliably....now I really can't wait for DaveC's dpad mod! (and no more games that require tons of...

What's The Latest In Jotstick Replacement?

No game actually....I was configuring gmenu2x! Is there a US based place that will fix it, or would gp2x.co.uk send a replacement in advance so I'm not without it for a month+?

What's The Latest In Jotstick Replacement?

Unfortunately no...the stick itself is completely broken...the metal shaft just flops about when the cap is removed.

What's The Latest In Jotstick Replacement?

Well this didn't last too long...seems the center plastic must've broken since it's all floppy and unusable now. I am definitely interested in DaveC's d-pad mod....but I don't know how close to reality that is. I've probably logged only 20 hours or so on this thing... So...what is my best...

Try this: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ It's a pretty decent audio editor.

Sandisk 1 Gb Sd Card Deletes Itself

DemonStar55's suggestion will probably resolve your problem. Windows has this bad feature called Write Caching, and even worse, it uses it on removable drives...so even when it appears to be idle, chances are that not all the data has been written. Using Eject forces the data to be written to...

The Official Gp2x Startup Sound Topic

Here's one I made for mine: Zipped WAV Here This is "Shall we play a game" from the 80's movie "WarGames" ;-)

    Cubic Player?

Hi all - I've always been fond of Cublic Player...it would rule to have this program ported to the GP2x Platform, as it can play MP3, OGG, MODs, MIDI via timidity patches, etc. And it has really neat visual displays, such as note dots, spectrum analyzers, etc. Here's the source...

    Just Got My Gp2x

The tones certainly will not damage speakers...unless the volume is cranked wayyyy up. I think you had a bad set :( So how many people have found their GP2X speakers to be out of phase?

My Simple (yet Effective) Joystick Improvement

"But once the glue dries, how are you going to get the cap off (if you need to)." That's what I meant when I said hot glue doesn't stick to metal...you'd be able to pull it off easily ;-)

    Just Got My Gp2x

That's what I did, I inverted one of the tones in the "out of phase" ogg file.

My Simple (yet Effective) Joystick Improvement

Put a touch of hot glue on the knob hole where it goes onto the stick...hot glue doesn't stick to metal very well but should make it tight enough not to rotate yet weak enough to be popped back off. The uses for hot glue are endless... I'm glad this seems to be helping some ;-) Here is a pic...

    Just Got My Gp2x

You should hear the difference on headphones as well. That's strange that some can't hear the difference...maybe some people are more susceptible to noticing than others. Well here is a description from crutchfield on speaker phase if it helps: "When your stereo speakers are connected in...

    Just Got My Gp2x

Yup, the screws are a pain. The type of screwdriver you use makes all the difference though...make sure yours is the right size to fit completely and snugly in the screwhead...heck rub the screws on a bar of soap before putting them back in so they go in easier...

My Simple (yet Effective) Joystick Improvement

I did try the one with GP2X on it and didn't like it at all...the diagonal raised GP2X lettering just messed me up even more. Anyway the glue has survived another day of playing so it seems durable enough. The secret, whether you use silicone or hot glue, is to ensure the cap is absolutely...
