There's just not enough cobalt to replace all cars with electric cars. And if we manage to find another solution, then lithium will be problematic as well. I know that public transportation infrastructure is not in good shape in many places, but I think we could get great result if we poured as...

I think we should just stop considering that everyone needs to have his own car.

    International Men's Day

I've never felt at ease with the image of what a "real man" should be. For a long time, I felt like I just wasn't a "real man". I didn't feel bad about it, I embraced my fragility, what some people called the "feminine side" and left the "manliness" to others. But recently, I've come to realize...

It happened to a friend when I was studying in one of the last place in France where train lines weren't electrified (funny thing, it was 15 years ago and back then they were saying "it'll happen real soon" and they've just started working on it now). They apparently forgot to fill the tank...

What are you playing this weekend/these days?

I've been playing the first Phoenix Wright game on my Pandora. It's surprising because I find that many things aren't handled very well (characters aren't very interesting, many jokes fall flat, situations feel a bit forced, etc.) but I'm still enjoying myself quite a lot.

    Box86 - Linux Userspace x86 Emulator

Oh cool, because last time I tested (back when you released it) I remember having to download a lot of libs for some games.

I was thinking the same thing and then realized that you'd still need to retrieve the x86 libs needed by the executable. A launcher that automatically retrieved these libraries would be awesome.

That's really impressive! Let me know if you need someone to test stuff, I thinks I still have my (hopefully) low-specs linux games from my last tests.

Reminds me of The Robot vs The Aztec Mummy. The title of that movie was promising, but the film was disappointing (apart from the far too short fight scene between the titular Robot and Aztec Mummy)

    World News Thread (Politics,whatever)

The "Internet mob" issue is not a new one. It's the problem of crowds. Crowds are powerful, they can impose their views, be it in democracy or in an authoritarian regime. A misguided crowd can cause a lot of trouble and even a good-intentioned crowd will often go overboard with bad consequences...

    The Caring Corner :)

When I was younger I was pretty successful at lucid dreaming. It started when I was having recurring nightmares and discovered that I could change them if I focused enough and forced me to think of what I wanted to happen. Then I was able to steer my dreams in some directions, as long as I...

I don't know @Klumpen, I feel that you too have your axe to grind against some opinions/communities and are sometimes more likely to spread hate and/or contempt rather than respectful dialog. Besides, I don't think you can blame people for refusing to engage or getting into a "us vs them"...

And many people's careers and lives have been ruined by people who were long considered as "harmless weirdoes". I know a few people who've walked away from some FOSS communities because there was an insufferable community member that everybody looked up to.

What are you playing this weekend/these days?

I've never played FF7, but that was my impression (and I think that it applies to many PSX games). I didn't enjoy FF6 that much. The combat is boring and takes too much time. There are some great scenes and ideas, but they all drown in endless random battles, and are a bit too disjointed.

What are you playing this weekend/these days?

I enjoyed the story in Illusion of Gaia (or Illusion of Time depending on the region) and Terranigma.

What are you playing this weekend/these days?

I've played Star Ocean some years ago, and replayed both recently, but couldn't finish them. I don't remember exactly why, but I think I got bored of the repetitive combat and the story wasn't interesting enough to keep me hooked.

What are you playing this weekend/these days?

I'm currently replaying Seiken Dentetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2) on my Pandora. It's both better and worse than I remember. The pacing of the first half of the game is interesting but the combat is a bit repetitive and boring. It looks good, but while in the first game combat was mostly action-RPG...
