    Psp From Ebay...worth The Risk?

I bought a PSP off ebay 1 week ago. A guy in the UK had about 16 1.5 psps to sell and I took the risk. I'm glad I did. He was very easy to deal with and I had it by the following day. I only wanted it for the emulators (having just got back into using my GP32 and therefore browsing this board...

    GP32 BBC Emulation on GP32

yes, it was the BBC that had a computer literacy project going and they gave the contract to Acorn computers to build them the machine.

    New GP32 review!

I use another forum called gamestyle. A couple of weeks ago I enthused about the gp32 on there. One of the replies I got was from a guy who did a lot of work for gamestyle and still contributes to the forums but had now moved on to GamesTM magazine. He told me that they'd just recieved one in...

How did you find out about the GP32??

A mate at work mentioned it to me. As soon as I looked into it I knew I had to have it.

How old are people on this board?

    I'm 33 going on 10! :)

    AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!&#33

yeah, my first unit had those problems. Overheating, flickering screen, resetting itself. All sorts of weirdness. I had no option in the end but to send it back for replacement. Glad to say the new one has no such problems.

    Speccyal'K - New Spectrum 48/128 emulator

Flack, The Spectrum (and it's fantastic rubber keyboard!) was my first machine before upgrading to the all-powerfl C64! :) I think it was released under the Timex brand in the US but I forget the model number. Go here for a java version of a speccy that'll run in your browser. Manic miner was...

    Speccyal'K - New Spectrum 48/128 emulator

Jetpac has problems too. I get random blocks of colour on the screen but when I press the buttons I can still hear the laser firing.

Castaway - someone test MSA for me ;)

you certainly did leave it in because the Sensible Soccer image I've been trying to play is an MSA image. Just need to be able to change to disc 2 now!

    Sensible...

Good point! :) Great work, Jeff! Keep it up.

    Sensible...

Anyone got this up and running yet on Castaway? For me, it loads the first disk then shows a picture prompting for disk 2 but even though I assigned the image to B it doesn't load. Bad Image perhaps? On another note I just had a great game of Speedball 2 and it looks and plays fantastic. This...

    I'm up and running

Got my replacement GP32 from Craig at GBAX today and it performs quite a bit differently from the last one, I can tell you! It doesn't get hot, doesn't reset itself, doesn't flicker! Can't believe how quick I got it too! Great turnaround. I only sent it back Tuesday afternoon and a new one...

    Atari ST games

yeah, I know but the descriptions were so lucid. It'd bring back a lot of memories but I don't think I'd stick with 'em for long! :)

    Atari ST games

STOS Basic!! Fantastic. Spent many a happy hour using that. Think I've still got it somewhere in my loft (AMOS too!)! I'm looking forward to playing all the Infocom classics, personally.

GP32 We need an Amiga emulator for GP32 !

Am I the only one who thinks Kick Off 2 was better than sensi soccer? I guess I must be! :)

    Atari ST alpha 002

Still got my ST (not to mention two Amiga A1200, 2 C64, 1 Vic20, 1 Zx81, 1 Spectrum 48K, 1 Z88, 1 QL). Guess I really am a retro freak! Seeing as the mighty Jeff Minter is populating these boards perhaps we could convince him to write Tempest 2000 for the GP32?? How 'bout it, Jeff? :D

A video of my faulty GP32

yes, first four batteries were Duracell Plus. The last four I've used are Duracell Ultra M3

    Strange idea I admit...

I have absoutely no idea if/how they make money. I'm just speaking personally in that the commercial offerings do not interest me at all. The appeal to me was the thought of a portable C64 and hopefully soon a decent Spectrum emulator in ZXAdvance

    Strange idea I admit...

I'm not sure many people buy it for commercial games. I think a large percentage of the sales the machine has achieved is down to the currently available emulators and the promise of new and better emulators to come. From my own personal point of view (ignoring the fact that my machine is...
