Well we know they've had enough for 1000 Pandoras, Perhaps the order for more will be announce by the time they ship their 500th. Looking at the video of the Hall with just parts and cases for 1000 systems looked like they half filled the place up can you imagine how jam packed the place would...
It's what most spambots try to sell once they get into a forum. I'm sure there are a couple of other words they've blocked because I've even seen ED get caught by the filter and he's an ADMIN.
As of the 24th there are only about 150 (give or take a dozen) confirmed in existence. They were trying to hit about 100 a day but doing tech support over the last few days probably slowed them down. I figure they probably wouldnt ship if they had less than 50 so they could simply be taking more...
Tweets from craig suggest they've shipped less than 200 so far.
It's not really all that vague. I would say at this point that I would have expected a tweet yesterday about how many they've gotten ready but they did spend a lot of time doing Consumer assistance to about 40 or 50 people who...
The rest of the 3000 will likely hear something about by the time they get more shipped. They have 4000 total units to take care of and they haven't even gotten the first 400 out the door yet.
From a VG-network page
Sega, realizing what they were up against in the PS1 at E3, hastily revamped the Saturn to make it more powerful, but we all know how that turned out. As for DC emulation the verdict is still out on that until the Dev gets a system to further his work.
Holy crap that's a lot more roms than I think eve even have stored.
But even though they're supported it doesnt mean they'll all run well. I see Plasma Sword on that list and I cant even get it to run smooth on a 3ghz pentium, and Osman was a game I needed a special version of MAME just to run.
I ordered on day one right after the order forms opened up online I assume I'm early in the que (at least in the first 1000) and from the sound of things you'll get a notification that it's shipping out but if you're just getting standard airmail then I doubt you'll get a tracking number...
I wasn't exactly stating it as fact. Mostly suggesting that because the battery only comes partly charged when you get your Pandora, it's not really the best time to launch into a 10 hour marathon (Unless you remove the battery after your 1st time set up and just run on the adapter). Just seems...
Most Li-Po batteries from what I've hear have safe guards but nothing is completely fool proof. Enough stupidity could eventually result in a fire or at least deformation of the battery.
So what I'm getting from all this is that the optimal first use of the Pandora should be:
1. insert battery...
Right, I understand that, I mentioned it as being the only reason why they wouldn't have otherwise used a hinge people couldnt criticize.
Ultimately though isnt opening flat no more awkward than any other non clamshell device?
I can't image there ever being a single electronic device in the history of electronics that has ever released and never had a problem. If the only issue with the Pandora is a few bad batteries we should all bow down and thank what ever god watches over computers and electronics.
When I paid for my Pandora I paid by check, it got to them in about a week (via regular no frills mail), I have to assume that from the moment I get an email from GBAX that I should have it in about a week afterward since I didnt ask for expediated shipping.
As I understand it part of the reason some games dont work with later versions of MAME is that they make alterations to the code that are meant to make it more compatible with more games the down side is when they loose certain games but gain more games in the process with the hope that those...
What versions are the other systems using?(by which I mean portables, Pandora might have as much raw power as an xbox but I wouldnt expect coded emulators to be on exactly the same footing) I'd hope ours would catch up in a relatively short time frame if it's not already the same.
