Will We All Have Our Pandora's By Xmas?

This is true, how many gamers do you know that love to go sky diving? Or drag race? Or leave their houses?

    Finger Based Ui

Of course it is, but what's wrong with that? The fact is it will work just as smoothly as running programs from the desktop (afaik). Android can't do that. And I was downplaying Android on the Pandora, not Android itself. It's a great system for phones and PDA's, not for UMPCs.

Chrome OS will have support for running ELF applications. At least, as far as I'm aware. Google has gotten support from the Wine developers to be included in the OS. Why would they include Wine support, if it's *only* for web applications? Pay attention to the far bottom right, it's quite...

    Finger Based Ui

You would be butchering your Pandora to install Android on it. Android is designed around Java applications, there'd be no way to launch raw ELFs (PSX emulator, SNES, etc) from it without some major tweaking. You *might* be able to do it from a terminal window in Android... but it'd still be...

Will We All Have Our Pandora's By Xmas?

This would be suitable math if it weren't for the target demographics. Did you take into account the fact that most people who order the Pandora aren't doing it with their social security checks and retirement funds?

    Sd Card Question...

I killed a 32mb MS Pro Duo in my PSP days from developing an app that wrote to the card too many times.

    Second Batch?

I think everyone needs to take a step back and think about this. Yes, as customers, you are all angry about the delays. You're getting irritable, and that's to be expected. But think about the people MAKING this device! However irritable you are, they are 10 times worse. I'm sure the delays...

    Dual Slot Sdhc Adapter?

Hmm... according to newegg, can pick up 32gb SDHC for $70, and the cheapest 16gb microSDHC for $45. That would mean doing this would cost $20 + the adapter more than getting a single 32gb SDHC. The question is, do you get a performance boost of using two cards in parallel? I suppose it would...

PagePlus says they charge ~$1 per mb on prepaid? http://www.pagepluscellular.com/Plans/Standard%20Plan.aspx

    Dual Slot Sdhc Adapter?

Are you sure you got that right...? It takes 2 microSD and allows a device to write to it as a single MS Pro Duo? Never seen that before, at least the converting between formats (SD to MS Pro Duo) with 2 cards.

    Sd Card Question...

Using FAT32 would be a waste. ext2-4 would be faster, more stable... Granted I only use Linux machines these days, but still, the actual device is linux... don't butcher it with FAT32 ;). And as said above, NTFS really isn't an option for SD cards. It'd be a worse choice than FAT32.

I wonder I could order over the phone, or find someone who lives in those states to forward mail to me. The prices are dirt cheap, $10 data plans for prepaid service? I wonder if the HTC Hero would work on it. CDMA all use the same frequencies, correct? And I know how to tether a Hero with them...

    Mupen64Plus

Why does it matter where it's being ran? Getting it running in a throttled Qemu would be a LOT better than nothing, and shows progress. Getting it running on a beagleboard (with nearly the same specs as the pandora) would be amazing. I've been out of the PSP scene for years (prefer it that...

    Pandora Carry Case

Probably wouldn't be too hard to scratch off, like 99% of cheap cases.

From their website http://nteloswireless.com/mobilebroadband/ "nTelos Mobile Broadband works nationwide." Yet it says it's only available for select regions. The cell phone pages only show regions for one state. I mean, really, is this nationwide or not? Most annoying website EVER.

That is most likely up to the networking tools and window manager (not Pandora devs).

Us Pandorites, How Will You Mobile Internet?

I'm really curious, they say they offer net nationwide, but only sell to certain regions. I'm guessing you only get service in regions where they have towers... but why are they saying it's nation wide?

Look into whether or not Verizon blocks VoIP. I use Google Voice + Gizmo + VoIP client to get unlimited free calls and SMS, has replaced my home phone and cell phone. If VoIP works on Verizon's data, you could just get a VoIP client for Angstrom and be good to go :). This has been my plan, tbh.

Got a lot of experience here, so I'll chime in. I've tethered on Nextel/Sprint/T-Mobile, and have never been charged a dime (outside of normal data fees). Sprint does specifically say no tethering, and if caught they'll either charge you insane fees or attach the $30/month tethering plan on...

Marketplace For Openpandora Commercial Games And Apps

So, has anyone stepped up to making this or are we still arguing about DRM? I skipped the past few pages, on purpose. I would love to make this, but I see a few problems... namely, is the PND protocol finished, is it a final choice for applications on the Pandora, or could I rewrite it? And how...
