You know, that statement alone may have just convinced me to keep my place in the first batch :D
I just thought it'd be good to see the progress, given that the last we saw of Angstrom was quite a while ago and according to the Pandora git repository, lots of stuff's been done.
Gah! Now I'm on the fence again! I thought I was over this point (as I obviously was when I ordered and even set up the unofficial blog).
I just expected the software to be more workable than it currently is, despite warnings that it'd be a bit rough to start with - I didn't expect this rough...
Today, MWeston shared a video showing the first Prototype Pandora actually working, but not in the same sense as I imagined. I appreciate that MWeston hasn't got the latest Angstrom image to show people at the moment, and the video would have been impressive in its own right, but the...
Contrary to others' reactions, this latest video has actually put me off a bit. If MWeston could do another video with the actual Angstrom image with all the progress on the software side, that'd be great.
Maybe I'd hyped myself up by not having access to the video until now.
When you make the video, you should start with the boring test app to show it functioning at a basic level, then whip out a game and start playing it. :D
Finally downloaded - great video. The ending with all the devs is good.
You should update it as we go along, and as soon as the Pandora's finished and manufactured, release the updated video.
Could you upload to youtube? Saves having to download the wmv at 5kb/s or having to turn off adblock to download from zshare
Okay, you really do need to upload to youtube - the download's just decided to stop after 3mb :/
I think I speak for all of us when I say
"BLOODY FANTASTIC!"
Now we need some videos of an emu running on it with the controls - that'd be the icing on the cake.
I wants photos of the FDM!
That updated render looks wonderful. Have the reflections been toned down a bit?
I wonder what's on the other side of the case, LED-wise? On the previous render, there was space for two sets of LEDs.
If you head to the unofficial blog, you'll find some discernible progress on bits of prototype cases. It's not that there's no info, it's just that all the info we have is spread around.
