    Screen corruption

Mine has recently done this, along with the LCD cable starting to show signs of becoming mangled... it's very subtle unless you watch when opening the hinge, but the default background has a purple tinge when it's supposed to be black and gray, for instance, so I've caught it as early as I could...

Pandora Porting a simple SDL game to Pandora

Yea, I fixed it.. must've done so when I re-packaged it as "OldExtendUtils" as it was a bit of a serious bug ( think it was /usr/lib that I missed out! ) The "New" Extend Utils are as complicated as they are mostly for doing crazy OS Extend things ( though the Wiki does have extensive...

Pandora Porting a simple SDL game to Pandora

Wow, people actually do use my dodgy hacks! Nice one :) Interesting that you use the older Extend Utils compared to the newer one.. think it's about time I whipped up a proper GUI for it rather than using the Zenity crutches which makes it less intuitive than it needs to be! I will warn you...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Yep, I thought that, as I couldn't get their ARM install images working either ( though they didn't hang, they just didn't show anything on the screen.. ) You'll need to replace the kernel and modules with the Angstrom one to get any further - but then it'll become unstable later on.. I think...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Getting Ubuntu to a console install is easy as that's all you can do with rootstock at the moment due to some bug in it. You then just copy it to an SD card, chroot into it from Angstrom on the Pandora, and start installing stuff. However, as soon as you start adding X and friends in, there's...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Typically, just when I was starting to have some free time to look at this again, my Pandora develops a few faults :( It's succumbed to the dodgy LCD cable issue ( seeing as it's serial number ends in 12, I guess it slipped through! ) and for some bizarre reason, my left nub's decided to become...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Well from what I remember, it's out of date enough not to have an xorg driver for the OMAP chip ;)

    Debian On An Sd Card

Possibly, I've just been using debootstrap to get a working system. Be sure to go with sid and not lenny for Debian, or you'll be in a world of pain ;)

    Debian On An Sd Card

As far as I can remember, the kernel and the modules were copied over, but the startup scripts weren't - so that's probably all that's missing from my image at least. I might actually have some time again soon to look at this! Woo!

    Debian On An Sd Card

If you're having to use ndiswrapper, it's only compatible with x86 and x86-64 machines, not ARM like the Pandora, sorry :(

    Debian On An Sd Card

Ndiswrapper doesn't run on ARM architectures I'm afraid.. you'll need to get the builtin wifi working, or use a wifi stick that has native Linux compatibility, with a kernel driver available.

Sounds like you might need swap space and/or it's not enabled for some reason, as I remember running into that issue. If you're sure you've got swap space configured, just drop to a terminal ( CTRL + ALT + F1 ) and enable it manually ( good 'ol swapon /dev/whatever ) and you should be good.

    Debian On An Sd Card

Yep, just work is ludicrously insane just now so I don't really have a great deal of time to do anything much, and I haven't looked at it in a while :( I personally would rather stick to Debian rather than messing with Ubuntu, which has been a severe pain in the arse so far to deal with so far...

    Debian On An Sd Card

That's what I've been using... there's a lot of issues with that unfortunately: Rootstock is buggered at the moment ( there's a big bug report on it somewhere ) in that you can't perform anything other than a Minimal install on a PC. Once you transfer it to the Pandora and start running apt, if...

    Debian On An Sd Card

I thought you had used netbook edition! Well, the standard Ubuntu version I have is netbook edition. I haven't had time to upload it though, or run through the changes you suggested.. I didn't get out of work last night till 11.30pm so yea, it's a tad mental at the moment, and work comes first...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Very nice! I'm still a bit behind you in terms of getting my own image up and running.. I'm still at the lack of input stage due to driver hiccups ( that and it sometimes decides it doesn't feel like booting fully, throws a kernel panic, or just stops midway and only a CTRL+ALT+DEL from my USB...

I Really Want Ubuntu 10 On The Pandora!

Recent versions of Ubuntu ( post Jaunty ) will not work in the Extend environment due to the replacement of the age old System V init scripts with Upstart. This is an issue between the way chroot works, and how services want to start ( Upstart near enough requires to be PID 1, which it's not...

    Office Suite For Pandora

Pretty much that was the reasoning behind it.. that and Angstrom and Debian are pretty similar anyway, so thought that'd have had the best chance of working :) In terms of the original question though, you could do an OS Extend of Linux Mint if you really wanted to... I'm spread a bit thin over...

What Can Debian Os Extend Do?

    1. It shouldn't, as it's just a chroot and it'll use it's own copies of the libraries. Of course, if you're going to go running heavy applications, be prepared for the performance to be a bit iffy! 2. What do you mean "any program with a driver"? I haven't actually checked if you've got access...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Wow, very nice! Unfortunately, work got in the way again so I've still got a half-finished Maverick install on my Pandora at the moment :( Work is going to be utterly mental the next month as well, so I'm not sure how much time I'll have to continue playing with it, but seems you've got a...
