Oops.. should be fixed now.. I thought I copied the message source too! Not that there's any difference between how the link looks, which is probably what threw me off... why it mangles urls I have no idea, really stupid forum thing. Anyway, I'm currently going through the process again and...

    Rubbish games which you loved!

Amusingly I had this game... as crap as it was, it certainly had it's moments even though it was effectively the same few levels repeated over and over and over till your brain melted. Shooting giant dinosaurs that spat bullets at you and axe flinging cavemen, while you shot at them with...

    Progging.

I'm a game developer.. I have a BSc with Honours in Computer Games Development, but mostly I'm self taught from starting on a good 'ol Spectrum, moving up to an Atari ST ( yes, I went "that" route, you Commodore fans ;) ) then on to PC :) Fun thing is that during High School, instead of...

    Development on Pandora

I'm setting my dev environment(s) up just now... The tools I use I've released ( the Extends stuff and Debian booting from SD ) for others to benefit.. but as they were primarily for my own mucking about, they do tend to be "a bit scary" ;) That said, no-one really gives me much feedback...

    Debian on SD

Effectively a repost from the other boards; so feel free to read the whole thing for what's been going on: http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?/topic/57097-debian-on-an-sd-card/ Thanks to chris_c for being the guinea pig and testing a few times.. specially with my script fail ;) Be sure to...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Right... release time! Thanks to chris_c for being the guinea pig and testing a few times.. specially with my script fail ;) Be sure to untar while preserving permissions! (IE: sudo tar -xvjpf pandora-squeeze-1.0.tar.bz2 -C /my/ext2-formatted/sdcard ) --edit-- link removed, check the wiki for...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Thought this was worthy of a new post to trigger interest in all those watching the topic. Posting from Debian, on my Pandora :) Shall clean it up a bit and upload soon. --edit-- It's going through some testing to catch any oddness.. which there seems to be at the moment, bah... Thanks to...

    Debian On An Sd Card

NUBS! are in and working, though don't keep their settings on reboot.. probably a file permission somewhere being a bit off. PNDS! are there.. you can manually call pnd_run but it doesn't seem to automatically scan and throw them on desktop/menu as yet.. working on it. WIFI! is nearly there...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Once I sorted Xorg out, everything started running MUCH faster, so was probably that misbehaving causing the issues. Still need to get Wifi going.. nubs should just be copying over some scripts ( they're detected fine ) and keyboard's just a remapping.

    Debian On An Sd Card

I shall have a look at NILFS once I've got everything else working - less unknowns the better, at the moment :) Progress update from this morning's hacking: Sound works ( actually, it probably just worked anyway.. I didn't have anything to test it with till this morning! ) Touchscreen...

    Debian On An Sd Card

I have the SGX drivers up and running and was watching the bemused EvilSkull demo earlier.. seems good so far :) Just fixed the touchscreen so it behaves itself and isn't inverted or otherwise mad. Working on pulling down lxde and networkmanager just now.. see if we can get WiFi working and a...

    Debian On An Sd Card

I've got Debian booting up into GDM and fluxbox now.. touchscreen is "active" but a bit mad as I haven't configured it yet. I almost got 3D working this morning, but had to run off to work so, it's not quite there yet. Haven't got a proper keymap for the Pandora yet, but I just use a USB...

    Debian On An Sd Card

The kernel modules and firmware folders have been pushed over.. so everything _might_ just work but as it's just a minimal install, there's nothing there to test things work yet ;) Yes, GNOME will take a few hours... I'm probably going to go for one of the lighter ones first ( perhaps fluxbox...

    Debian On An Sd Card

And I've made a start... Here is a _MINIMAL_ ( and I repeat this, MINIMAL ) rootfs of Debian 6.0 It will boot, but you've got pretty much nothing there... it's effectively what you'd get if you've just finished doing debootstrap. So is this useless? Not really.. I'm providing this for those...

Cross-Compiling Is Bollocks! Toolchains Are Bollocks! Use Yo

Well I've got some free time again, so lets see if I can abuse it much more ;) Probably about time I go and update some of my hacks a bit anyway.. I've also been storing up some feedback on various things, so if you've anything you'd like me to do, gimme a shout as now's the perfect time :) I...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Ah.. I probably should've been a bit clearer there.. what I meant is that bits aren't configured, and the bits that aren't configured include that list. However, I've just received my replacement Pandora so shall be having a look at this again as soon as immediate work commitments are out the...

I quite like the combination of Fluxbox and Rox.. though perhaps a bit too basic for some people!

You're brave ;) The ExtendUtils stuff has been hiding in the GP32X "Software Hacking" section for quite a while, along with my other hackery - like booting into Debian directly from SD; which with Squeeze now being released, I'd really rather like to have another look at! Though my...

It's Ubuntu's use of Upstart rather than the normal SystemV init scripts that buggers it up ;) It plain doesn't work in chroot jails.. there's a huge bug report about it, but they don't seem arsed to fix it for some reason. Also, Ubuntu's debootstrap varient is rootstock ( well, for creating...

That would be good.. my stuff has kinda stagnated for quite a while as I've not really had a great deal of time to work on it. However, no-one's really complained to me much about anything breaking, so it seems fine to me! And a few people use it, so it's all good :) I haven't had a look at...
