General Thoughts On The Pandora, Laptops Et Al

Hello all :) ! I've just been going over all the various posts and points on this board regarding the pandora. And overall, and hopefully :) I'm making the right decision I've decided to go with pandora. For me, it ticks a lot of the boxes which other systems simply don't do. Let me elaborate...

    Pandora Scheduled In August Right...

I wonder which programme on C4 the pandora will appear on? From memory the only programme I know of which would cover such a device is "the gadget show", and that's on C5. ljones

Well it'll be intresting to see what they come up with regards to a GUI :) ! Didn't fluff host "pick of the pops" on Radio 1? :D Not 'arf, mate! ljones

What Do You Think The Pandora Should Feature First?

With regards to the GUI, wouldn't GPE work as a good enough GUI? I've not tried GPE out on my GP2X at all, but from videos on youtube I've seen it didn't run *too* badly. ljones

What Do You Think The Pandora Should Feature First?

One thing I guess most people here can agree on is that there's a *lot* of work to do. And if - say for sake of argument - the release of the pandora (post 3000 units) was to be timed for the xmas period that means there is around 5 months left to produce something workable. Plus depending on...

What Do You Think The Pandora Should Feature First?

Choosing between either a great GUI or great emulators is quite a hard call. With a lousy GUI but good emulators people might look at the pandora and say "What a great games machine but why does it have a keyboard....I won't buy one it plays games great but it's useless for applications". But if...

    The Pandora And Usb

(Apologies, I mean DVB-T, not DTV-T!). Hello all :) I was just wondering - would it be possible to make the pandora work with DVB-T USB 2 devices at all? If that's possible in theroy it would be possible to use the pandora as a tiny digital freeview TV or VCR! ljones [Edited Title and moved...

Pandora What Can We Look Forward To On The Pandora

In reference to better amiga emulation I can think of one place the pandora won't be able to do on that count, or not so easily. From memory the amiga's hires screens (OCS) were 640x512. The pandora's screen is 800x480. So it won't fit 100%. ljones

Haven't Been Here For A Loooong Time !

Uh oh....that battery dosen't sound too good. Still wondering what happens once it eventually won't hold its charge - not so good. Hopefully there will be some other way of powering the unit or modifying it. One other quick question - will the pandora have any sort of VGA output or will it be...

Haven't Been Here For A Loooong Time !

:) Thanks for that. Just looking at the other replies, I didn't spot one of those pictures (the woman holding the pandora). The physical size of the thing - 140x83x27 mm makes it only slightly larger than a blackberry! That sure looks intresting and although I'm not expecting full-blown desktop...

Haven't Been Here For A Loooong Time !

Hello all :) ! I haven't visited these forums (nor the GP2X website) all that much, so the pandora is pretty new to me. I've just been reading the FAQ and seen the rendered picture. The pandora looks very nice but I do have some thoughts and questions. First of all I'd like to say I also own a...

Just Got The Gp2x Breakout Board....

Hello all :) I Just recently bought the breakout board, and while it seems to be working fine (though I wish it had come in a case!) I just have a couple of questions to ask. I've tried the USB ports on the breakout board and found some thing to work ok, while other things didn't seem to want...

    Resolution Confusion!

Hello all, I've just recently bought a GP2X and now I'm thinking about getting the breakout board and the TV out cable. When I bought the GP2X I remember reading its maximum resolution output over TV out was at 720x480. But looking at this wiki page; http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/TV-Out Says that...

    Gp2x "blown Sky High?"

I've just recenly bought my GP2X (mentioned in another post). I connected the GP2X to my PC, switched on the PC and there was some random garbage on the GP2X's screen so I switched it off. After this I can't seem to get my PC to "see" the GP2X in USB under linux (I'm using slackware 10.2)...

    Gp2x Questions

Well I finally took the plunge and bought a GP2X! So far so good - but I don't have an SD card right now (I'll get one soon however). But just one more question: if I were to download some test files onto the GP2X, like one or two MP3s or a JPEG picture where is the best place to store them on...

    Gp2x Questions

Thanks for all the info! The GP2X looks intresting, moreso than it did before I made this post! I was thinking about dropping pictures onto the GP2X as my idea was this: 1) elimiate the need for a laptop, 2) easier file navigation (e.g. to delete a file -- my digital camera's system of deleting...

    Gp2x Questions

Hello, I'm new here, so I hope my questions aren't too silly(!) . I've not put my post in the "I need help" section of this forum since I don't have a GP2X (or a GP32) at all, I hope I have the right section on the forums here! I'm thinking about getting a GP2X but I'm still in two minds...
