I just tried your game and it runs fine, I have firmware 1.2.1 and put the u.d.s directory in the SD's root. Are you using OpenGL by any chance? I may have installed those libraries beforehand for Quake (don't remember), and I don't think they come with the firmware. Maybe people need to install...
SQRXZ! Oh man, that's one of the first games I really got into, about 10 years ago on a TI-86 :) Really hard game, I don't think I ever got past the fifth level with those annoying birds.
I like the original monochrome graphics better than these screenshots (the 86 LCD ghosting really enhanced...
I think the key to success is to have a goal that you constantly work towards, like "make a space shooter game" or "code an app that does todo lists". You will likely give up on your initial plan along the way, but it's good to have an actual target at the beginning, until you realize that you...
Hi Sam :)
I've been working on Zam on and off, though not much since last year. Plenty of things kept me busy, but I think I will have some updates this spring.
Version 1.1 is now in the archive, it has an option to scan the NAND for applications. Thanks to kb_wiz for the idea.

INImaker is a GP2X Wiz application that creates INI files for programs that don't have shortcuts in the Wiz Games menu. It can also find and delete INI files that link to deleted programs, and find missing icons.
New in 1.0:
- better interface
- option to generate INIs for programs outside...
This looks very nice, good luck making it into a full game. I think brighter colours would work better, sometimes it's hard to see on the GP2X screen.
Nice maze algo too, I love how simple and effective these things are :)
Nice surprise SQ. I'm impressed by how much gpu940 can draw every frame.
All of Kenta Cho's shooters except Noiz2sa overwhelm me, I always liked Noiz best because it's more toned down. It's hard enough to dodge 1000 bullets, distracting backgrounds don't really help :)
Thanks for this. Have a...
I may enter a game, although time is always so sparse. Maybe I'll reserve 2:30-3:00am every night from now until March 28 for working on this, could be a fun experiment :D
Excellent update, screen tearing is practically gone from all SDL games (including Giana's Return, :) !). No more need to flip all those pixels every frame, hooray for dynamic linking!
You don't want your daughter screwing up her eyes reading on a 2.8" screen. It's nice for games, but anything smaller than 8" is uncomfortable for lengthy reading.
I read Brave New World on the GP2X (3.5" lcd) with 8 rows of text on the screen at a time, and I regret it. Good book though :)
There's no reason to torture small-screen users with your 1024x768-optimized site. Just use "width:100%; max-width:960px;", and let the layout fit on any resolution. I think the age of the site that has complete control over how users see it has long set, no more 10px fonts either...
Explains your PowerSlide game, looking at Badlands' screenshots I even recognize some of the race tracks :) Hooka should interview you, I have a feeling you have a lot of nice stories to share :)
Can you flash firmwares from SDHC cards? I remember someone here had troubles with that, so maybe it would be a good idea to have a regular SD around just in case.
At what point will these huge sizes become irrelevant?
I use 2GB cards for my GP2X and Wiz, and my computer has a 12GB hard drive. The card in my GP2X only has 20MB free though (after 3 years' worth of awesome homebrew), so I can see myself using 4GB or even 8GB cards instead. I feel that...
Very nice release, performance is great even with Pentium details :)
The Blu+ version does not work properly for me though, it freezes at various points before ever getting to the actual game. The speed is the default 133MHz with good batts, and I redownloaded the zip just in case I've got a...
Thanks for your replies. :)
Both sound good, will do.
I didn't look at Win2x much yet, but I'll give it a go for sure once it's matured (I did the same with Gmenu2x on the GP2X, and never went back to the default front end). So perhaps in a future update. I'll probably open source INImaker in...
