My guess is that must have been something specific that didn't work well with Ubuntu 8.10+ on that particuliar machine. Bootime should be faster on recent version of Ubuntu and I don't think the they are significantly more demanding CPU wise. I don't have any benchmark handy right now but I am...
Evolution is your best bet for Exchange support.
There is actually some work being done another UI for Evolution, aimed at nebook. It seems to be still very much in development but it might be nice to have it on the Pandora in the future.

Nice video EvilDragon !
The choice of GUI is great. The Ubuntu netbook launcher is quite nice on the Pandora screen size.
I imagine it will be possible to use the game control to navigate though it right ?
Yes it can be charged by USB either by conecting it to a pc a by using a USB power supply.
For the charging while off it's not so wierd... The nokia n800 (omap 3) also needs to be turned on for charging. It does have what seems to be minimalistic OS for doing this.
Another thing you will...
GUI wise it's NetworkManager that is beeing used. It allows you to created ad-hoc network. Seeing how the wifi driver are still being worked on there is garanties it will work properly though. I am sure we will get enough feedback once the Pandora is out the door.
This list is great. Gives a lot of information as to what we can expect when the Pandora ship.
And even more importantly it gives the developper a clear idea of what has to be fixed / improved.
I've got a few question though.
The Pandora uses "only" ALSA for sound, or does it have pulseaudio...
The Pandora has wifi / bluetooth / usb so there is plenty of way you can connect 2 Pandora togheter. Then it's up to the game to support multiplayer.
You can also connect multiple gamepad to the Pandora (using a usb switch) and play on a TV. I am sure some emulator will allow multiple controls...
Beside the plastic cases they don't seem to have a "proper" carrying cases on dealextreme
I've bought on of those in Japan some time ago.... probably didn't cost me much more than 5$
On the News Page:
But that dates back from November 14th, 2008 and I have no idea if anything happened since.
Actually I found some blog entry about Canola on the nokia n900

The link works for me. Got to say the pricing on the iPod touch is quite alright.... I still wouldn't buy one but that's just me of course. It's definitely a quite powerfull device with a nice web browser and tons of application. As long as you don't mind the apple control freak side of it...
USB1 will work on the usb OTG port. As it's custom made he might as well put a mini usb connector so he can connect to it directly (no adapter). The only limitation is that it should not use more than 100mah
The website will need to have more promotional stuff and featured content. I believe one issue here is that the team is quite busy. Maybe it would be a good move for them to get some more help on the website... I know they seem to like doing everything by themselve (craig doing the "Appstore"...
