You're totally mixing up 1.8' and 2.5' here...
Th biggest 1.8' harddrive on the market are 250GB (as far as I know...).
The 500GB s2 mini you're referring to is a 2.5' harddrive
Samsung S1 mini is 1.8' and S2 mini is 2.5.'.
Here is an actually 1.8' 250GB harddrive...
The advertising budget budget being 4x the production cost is pretty insane.
Well maybe insane is not the word but impressive at least. They definitely manage to sell enough of those to make a good profit.
I think that pretty much show why big development company will not be interested in the...
Actually you need to be carefully with USB harddrive.
The Pandora USB host port does provide 500mah (and 700mah peak for short period I think). So it is a full powered USB port and any device that are within USB specification in term of power should work.
The problem with harddrive is that...
I saw that news on phoronix... what they are doing is pretty cool.
It's great to see there are some good project around the nokia n900. It can only be good for the Pandora, especially open source game.
aesir911> You're worrying too much... pretty much all keyboard and mice are HID device and will work with the Pandora. The developers of the Pandora have use them with the Pandora board since pretty much forever.
The only thing to remember is that Keyboard and mice are USB1 device so you will...
Man that mock-up looks great !
What's really important I guess is that the graphic style in whole game matches. If the in-game graphic can be made in a similar style as what you posted it would be quite impressive.
That graphic should also depends of what the creator of the game intended I...
I just rearranged the wiki page into categories. Hope it's a good idea.
I also added a small note on the input device section:
Hope it makes sense. Non native speaker here so don't hesitate to correct me.
brunox69> So yes your USB controller should work fine :)
Nova> I didn't know about your site. It's nice to have one more source of information about open handheld device. I do like your site design and there seem to be lot's of recent news posted too.
I can't think a of good way to really "protect" your device. It's unbreakable by design: The person stealing could always reflash the internal memory or boot from a sd card.
What you would need is a equivalent to a BIOS password... but that probably doesn't exist. Unless it's on a low level...
kevin J Icon> I doesn't seem to be opensource to me... it definitely won't work with X86 binary. You would need the author to port this over. There will probably be a need to Opengl ES support too. If it's really closed source, unless the author ports it it will not happen.
You can buy a 1.8' Samsung S1 mini 250GB for 126$ on amazon. You're not going to get 250GB on a storage at an affordable price for some time on SSD.
Sure they are a tad expensive compare to 2.5' hard drive but they are smaller and more power efficient.
6.5h battery life with wifi on sounds pretty impressive for a 395g atom powered device.
apparently it cost more than $600 so it's a lot more expensive than the Pandora.
I definitely can see the Pandora becoming under attack on the mini computer front in the future. There will be a lot of device...
Hope we get some good news next week.
I personally would love to see some more video from evildragon. He started a series of video about the OS... hope it continues. I am sure there is still plenty to show. I would like to see bluetooth and wifi in action in particular.
I can understand he's...
Some Western digital prebuilt one are really quite cheap. You can get a 1.5TB for 130$.
Agreed that some are overpriced though. I personally wouldn't buy a separate enclosure just to save between 5-10$. Be aware of some cheap enclosure too...
I don't know about accessing samba share... it certainly should be possible but I don't know if the Pandora will ship with it.
NFS and FTP should definitely not be a problem. Accessing your NAS from the Internet is a question of setting up your network right.
I am not too sure about the...
I guess for some device like webcam we could have the name of the kernel driver that take charge of it and have a link to a compatibility page.
It would also be interesting to have a list of some application for use with the device. For example application with webcam support that are available...
