    gcc adds it's "signature" to compiled files. if you check the files of fw 2.0, you can clearly see; GCC: (GNU) 2.95.3 20010315 (release)

    @ChAoS Overlord: my packard bell w7600's built-in card reader doesn't read my SD card as well.. but it works fine with gp2x and my external card reader.. i tried this once and never tried to find out why it can't read.. EDIT: updated the windows drivers and it's works fine now.

    well done Squidge :) did you try other "cache" options on translation lookaside buffer? i mean, instead of "cacheable coherent exclusive" (100), how about "uncached accelerated" (111) or "cacheable coherent update on write" (101)?
