i've used Puck2099's usbjoy library to add usb joystick support for mame 2.7 and GP2Xpectrum 1.3b2
i'll hopefully add usb joy support to some other emulators soon :)
any hex file editor would do. assuming you're using windows, i could recommend far manager or hiew :)

my packard bell w7600's built-in card reader doesn't read my SD card as well.. but it works fine with gp2x and my external card reader.. i tried this once and never tried to find out why it can't read..
EDIT: updated the windows drivers and it's works fine now.

did you try other "cache" options on translation lookaside buffer?
i mean, instead of "cacheable coherent exclusive" (100), how about
"uncached accelerated" (111) or "cacheable coherent update on write" (101)?
