What software are we still missing on Pandora? (A Wish List)

Oh, cool - never had heard of the GPE project. I'll look into how much effort it would need to bundle the relevant GPE apps into a PND.

Nice calendaring / todo / contacts app that syncs with ownCloud or SOGo.

Will you buy a pandora 2!!!

The untold story behind Kickstarter stats (appsblogger.com). Just skimmed the text, but it seems one of the deciding factors is your marketing reach *before* you get on Kickstarter. So it turns into an amazing advertizing machine only if you manage to get over a certain threshold of attention...

Ouya - Android based open gaming console

Two more news items: Penny Arcade, not terribly impressed: http://penny-arcade....u-should-be-ske Wired, with a few quotes from the Ouya CEO: http://www.wired.com...07/ouya-ceo-qa/

Ouya - Android based open gaming console

According to the campaign FAQ they want 30% on any game sold. Guess the model is going to be based on fees for services that want to get presented on the platform. It's probably possible to at least break even on $99 for the system (minus controller), seeing as an ARM system like the CuBox...

Do you own a Tapwave Zodiac, if so what games do you have?

I own one (and still miss the good old PalmOS organizer functions). Sadly, the touchscreen is dead - doesn't register the stylus anymore.

    Release SuperZaxxon Final released!

Charging has been wonky for me in all SuperZaxxon versions (older CC system). It usually charges a couple percent, then charge LED turns off. I disconnect and reconnect the charger (or USB cable to the OTG port) a couple of times until the charge LED stays on again, then it takes in another 15%...

Reddit is talking about the Pandora... They seem to not like it very much

Tech forums and such generally seem not a good place to mention the Pandora. There's always someone who preordered and then gave up or felt ripped off or finally got his Pandora and then was disappointed. Most people think it's too expensive, too - and you always get the smartphone comparison...

... and production still is reliable and moving forward :) (2012-05-11)

Cancel your preorder, buy a new one shipping now. There, problem solved.

How to install Android on your Pandora

That's why you usually have the kernel (and in the old times, static tools that might be needed for basic system administration) on a separate filesystem that is rarely written to in normal operation - or could even be mounted readonly in multiuser mode to prevent corruption. If the boot...

    Trashed NAND

Actually, there's no problem with zram and Android. You just have to make shure that zram has higher priority than any SD-backed swap you may add - otherwise you'll lose the memory to zram but it will never be used (happened to me). Zram swap seems to have prio 5, so additional swap needs to...

Discussion about the future of tablets/computing (Split from other thread)

They may be the future, but not the future I'm interested in. Which is exactly why I own an Pandora, and not some sad Android device.

Release SuperZaxxon - Beta 5 released

Download stopped after about 1 MB again. Started Wireshark, but of course now it works.

Ah, so I'm not alone with these problems.

Release SuperZaxxon - Beta 3 released

The cdevtools pnd always had some subtle library differences which can lead to strange errors anyway. But installing task-native-sdk with opkg still destroys the system, so I don't know any alternative.

Release SuperZaxxon - Beta 3 released

That's nice - but I'm not shure that even zram can compress the 200MB swap that my system uses after running FF for a couple of hours into 256MB RAM ;)

Release SuperZaxxon - Beta 3 released

Ext4 works in general, but not for the boot volume (bootloader doesn't support it, and then ext4 is loaded as a module). Ext4 tools are included.

    Pandora PNDManager

Small usability hints: Show a cursor in the search field (otherwise unsure: can I type in there now or do I need to press some key to get there?) Installing from search result could be streamlined: Select result is )B(, install on the next screen is )A(, and then to confirm the install...

Release SuperZaxxon - Beta 3 released

Small bonus btw.: My 16GB class 10 SDHC card that didn't work with the 2.6 kernel has no problems at all now.
