    Can't post in mobile site.

you may be waiting a very long time. i have a Blackberry Bold 9000 that's still going with no problems. (the phones i have older than this - Danger/Sharp Sidekick II & Sidekick III) - are not very well constructed and probably would have fallen apart if i kept using them...)

i was going to describe it as "I really want to introduce a game sometime as 'King of Peggle Pass'... well, this is not that, but maybe you can see why i'd want to, once you try it."

somebody get 7 Grand Steps from DREDD. it's actually good - like playing a multi-generation-ancient-family/clan-simulator-themed mechanical gambling machine. well, ok, that's kinda exactly what it is. http://store.steampowered.com/app/238930/

"Deep" thoughts on Socialism and Capitalism... (Split from retux thread)

and an anecdote to counter your anecdote - public libraries where i live are doing quite well, and transitioning to 'digital age' media. they are also non-commercial parties. an increasing number of companies in the US specify in the EULA (or equivalent) that any issues you have with them must...

    FM radio?

here in Seattle are a reasonable number of public/college (read: ad-free) FM stations on the left-hand side of the dial. i would consider an FM receiver USB dongle.

Horror films for someone that 'can't be scared' ..?

oh yeah, i saw the other movie (Sorcerer) that was based off that original book because it had a Tangerine Dream soundtrack. came out in 1977, but the wide-screen version was only just released on home video last year. the director, William Friedkin, also directed The French Connection and The...

Keymat Layout - the Final Poll!

in this case, yes.  - i don't have enough experience with handheld keyboards to make an informed decision (as i don't have a Pandora, for one), other than it should be well suited for English (Germanic language) typists, so - i trust ED will make the best decision in this regard.

    Retro consoles and memories.

got an Atari 2600 in 1982 (the Sears "Telegames" version that came with "Pac-Man" and "Target Fun"). put many, many hours into that system. got a few games and accessories for it super cheap from the Kay-Bee Toys cutout bins a couple years later. we seemed incapable of respecting the storage...

LF: Wip3out Special Edition [PlayStation 1]

might be a long shot, but this re-release of Wip3out was only ever available in Europe (i'm in the US). i read that some changes were made to the 'driving' model and i'm interested in trying it, as this game was one of my absolute favorites of the time.

Refurbished laptops and Making a Linux Box

i think going for used/secondhand laptop is a good idea. i have a ThinkPad T510 at work that i run Ubuntu 14.04 on, and i like it just fine (and it too is a hand-me-down). the textured part of the touchpad is rubbing away, but other than that, is good. (and to give a reason for why i need...

    Programming

i'm interested in Java on the Pyra - the JDK won't be an issue, but it would be funny seeing Eclipse run on it. i could settle for NetBeans or something.
