Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

Make sure you use 95a or 95b (I extracted the cabs from floppy img's into a folder for the files, extract the cabs and just keep the 3 files it needs on your 98 iso for future) as 95c iso (nearly all iso's out there) will cause massive problems with 98lite.

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

I'll try to post some info on setting up 98lite soon. I've had a lot of personal problems that are in immediate need of my attention though so don't hold your breath. Here's what brief info I can offer right now, if you install and have success please post how. 1. If you own a legit copy of...

    Announcing OpenFire - A strategy-artilery W.I.P.

Beware of making weapons too powerful - meganukes and superzappers killed the fun of Scorched Tanks. I'd say that Scorched Tanks is a great place to look for what makes this kind of game so addictive though.

    Pandora Rebirth Competition Rules

This has always puzzled me in relation to general elections and the like as well, but what if I suffer from 'dissociative identity disorder', having multiple personalities with wildly differing tastes? Maybe each individual personality should be entitled to vote. Fortunately I am not afflicted...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

Yeah, I mentioned it somewhere on here before, but me and a friend once spent an entire weekend ripping win98 got windows it down to 7mb and still able to run SOME games. That was extreme, and frankly ridiculous, but if 98 could be ripped into a tiny install it might be the way forward for x86...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

I've managed to install a new "improved" version of Win98 in qemu on the netbook while on the train today. As it was installing I watched 2 episodes of "Quincy ME" on the Pandora, including one that I hadn't seen before. It was all about some woman who had amnesia - just let me know if I'm off...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

Yeah - VBE9x driver is crashing QEMM faster than a ZX speccy when trying to load a c64 tape into it (and let's face it, which of us didn't try that when we were kids?). It actually caused the emulator to quit completely first time I loaded it at 800x480, from then on it just kept putting me...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

Well, I tried lots of ways of getting the CD working in 9x. Strangely, changing the (mistakenly detected as HDD PCI IDE) driver to "Standard PCI Dual IDE" in device manager made the CD pop up and work, though after resetting I get "ye olde BSOD"! The BSOD also prevented me from loading the CD...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

I have been piddling around with various windows versions (though I have very little time these days). I was getting frustrated by some issues when trying to make "lite" versions specially for gaming. I seem to be getting the best results by modifying Windows 98 First Edition. Win98 SE isn't...

Release 3.2 kernel issue tracking thread

I admit it's not much of a solution, but for slow SD speeds wouldn't converting to EXT4 help?

Release PCSX ReARMed, with a new GPU

As a man, it's not unusual for certain things to double in size if I'm about to use them as a"plug-in". In this case however, I suspect that the screen stretch is simply an illusion due to the vertical resolution being artificially doubled. Would that my own aforemention plugin could create...

Release SuperZaxxon - Beta 1.1 released

I asked this before, but no answer yet. I know we can't overclock on the fly, but can we change it so that it boots as 800MHZ by default? Also, how about changing the OPP to OPP2 since my pandora clocks at 600MHZ at OPP2 anyway I might as well undervolt it if it's possible. Thanks again, good...

Release Firmware release 1.5, beta 1 released

First let me say THANK YOU, once again you have come up with unexpected marvels and we pandora owners are indebted. I have not used my pandora for over a week now cause of personal and family problems, but I really look forward to trying out these impressive updates. I do have a question...

    [Ex-Rebirth Comp] The Collector Plus

Hell and damnation, there's more than one prize for the rebirth compo, and qemu cant win more than 1 place. Get your arse in gear, and get your game entered, you might win 5th place and get a replacement stylus or something....

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

That is impressive! Thanks a million mcobit. You know, I remember the first time I saw it was without sound as my friends x486 had a soundblaster instead of GUS. We eventually found a little TSR GUS emulator which worked nicely - wonder is it's still out there in cyberspace. Anyway, thanks...

Release Qemu for Pandora (for rebirth competition)

It just occured to me, you could make an awesome little video of the pandora really doing something special - how about showing us the incredible classic 64k MSDOS demo "Paper" from 1996 running? This would really impress me, as well as bring back some incredible memories of the first time I...
