Somebody has to create some good 3D libraries first for people to get started with. If everyone has to code asm from scratch in order to get decent 3D, then I don't see this happening without much incentive. Still, with Pandora on the horizon everyone will probably use that for 3D.
But sure...
What do you think of DOSEMU running on top of QEMU? Sounds good to me.
Coincidentally, I'm actually learning 8086 assembly in school right now, but I wouldn't be of much help on this. Maybe in a few months :)
Hmm, another vote for Qemu. I think I see an interesting trend here :)
It'd be nice if someone took a serious look at it though.
Zodttd is unfortunetly distracted by the iPhone now. Maybe he'll make Simcity for the F-200 also :(
Just thought I'd mention that Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is for Naomi, a Dreamcast-based arcade board. So no, I wouldn't expect that game to be playable on the GP2X anytime soon. Marvel's a great game though, deserves respect :)
Some pro Marvel players.

I really don't care about HD output, just a good clean video connection. If there's a possibility to have a component video add-on that can be bought seperately, I'd take that as a good solution.
edit: deleted first paragraph.
And to defend Felix a little, I think he has good intentions, it's just that things don't always work out as he planned. His actions look strange to many because they aren't as transparent as other developers are. He never got any kind of deadline on the gp2x port...
Thanks for the link, but I read that part already.
Assuming that Pandora will do emulation of mostly everything in short order (including 3DO, according to Wikipedia :) ), what's left for it to try? I naturally assumed the upscaling of older videogames to higher resolutions, with filtering and...
One of the reasons I got a gp2x was because it would allow me to put away all of my aging consoles and instead have only one unit for retro gaming. I think it's done pretty well in that regard so far. But, in the age of HD, you'd think that a new handheld would give players the option of making...
Sorry to disappoint everyone. I tried to do my part in getting a gp2x to the FreeDO developer, but whatever he has in store for the gp2x is in his hands. This has been a really important project for me for a long time and I hope to see it finished. Anyone who's seen Admin's latest comment in the...
I think 8x is good enough for "comfortable" emulation. 4x, while technically possible, is competely impractical from a dev standpoint. DS on GP2X is impossible though.
Damn dude, I'm like the biggest supporter of a port of QEMU out there. That's why I posted up what I know  If you're a developer, I'd get in contact with Emu&Co, who tried the idea out.
As for saying it can't be done, I meant the GP2X version. I guess I care most about that version were...
Here some other threads talking about porting QEMU.

You might find some more if you do a search.
Btw, I doubt Diablo 2 would ever run using QEMU/Wine, on GP2X that is..maybe...
Well, QEMU + Wine or DOSEMU isn't a bad idea. It's been discussed in some detail before. I've been waiting for someone to try this ever since I bought my GP2X. No one seems interested though :(
