Pretty quiet here now. I think the android tablet have moved a lot of people away.
I'm not really a fan of the touch-screen only gaming, it's got to have real controls IMHO! :)
Thanks your console comparison table is quite useful, I wanted to see the difference between the various Dingoo's and Gemei and it showed me very nicely.
Don't be too miffed about not getting Splatterhouse to run full speed... it's a tricky and taxing arcade game to emulate.
Most arcade games of the time had 2 CPUs - Spatterhouse has a whopping 4x CPUs... and it's not a simple CPU to emulate. There are 3x M6809 and a M6808 (like a 6809) which are...
Yeah, I'm in the market for a Caanoo. Been been devving for the last few months. Built a nice Atari 2600 emulator for the GP32 - I will have to get around to releasing that!
As for SMCs, you need to find a reliable one, that's for sure. Executables go into GPMM. :)
The GP32 is a nice machine...
vAtari for the GP32 is finally finished, I've been testing it like mad. I've also ported it across to the Dingoo A320 and tested like mad on that.
I've also been doing a whole lot of other stuff. A Vectrex emulator that runs at fullspeed for the GP32 with sound, more improvements to MAME4ALL...
It's also a great handheld to use. One probelm facing handhelds is that whilst technically they are good, they are let down by in-adequate controls.
The GP2X is a prime example of this - the intial release with that stupid joystick were absurd! I quickly bought Dave-C's nokia joystick kit and...
Maybe a bit late but:
Toolchain:
- GCC updated to 4.6.3, with LTO support
- Optimizes for the jz4740 processor (defaults to mips32 processor, tune to mips32r2)
The ASM CPU and Video code for ARM are the only reasons that this works so well on the GP32.
A pure 'C' version would be way too slow. Even the Dingoo's MIPS at the default 336Mhz struggles. At full overclock - 420Mhz most games will be okay, some, where idle loops aren't detected will just be...
I had two files: cpu.c and cpu_recompiler.c
I didn't check for differences but now I've just had a look... :)
Anyway, that's good to clear that up.
I just tried Sylphia and then removed all the OGGs from the CUE file. Seems to work - though still some graphical errors at the start. But...
Hello My Exophase, or should I say Mr G.
Sorry this is a bit off topic as it's not about the Pandora version of Temper.
I've been busy porting Temper 0.80 to Dingoo - seems to work very nicely. Most HuCards work flawlessly. Some issues as previously noted by other users here.
I haven't...
I know this is an old thread but I did solve the problems with creating my own libgcov.a for the GP32.
Got the source code but it required quite a few modifications to get it going successfully with the GP32.
Using -fgenerate-profile and then later -fuse-profile generates code which is around...
Yeah, sorry my attention and time allowances drifts back to my other hobby all the time.
I've never been able to run anything on the GP32 that was C++ successfully. Compile, yes, run no.
I tried porting Stella the Atari 2600 emulator to the GP32. Got it going but the libraries just don't...
I've been doing some debugging of DosBox, still a few issues here and there.
Also adding code for a soft keyboard for A320 users. Nanonote users can use the real keyboard!
I've also got to install OpenDingux to make sure that's okay with DosBox.
@Asteroid - have you tried my vAtari emulator for...
As I thought, the GP32 is probably a pretty limited "market" now, I bet there are only a few hundred active users left in the world despite selling 30K odd units.
The GP32 is fun to develop though can be a pain to debug! :)
The likes of the A320 - especially on a Linux is the opposite - very...
