Just googled a bit, but have you tried this HMI2MID tool or maybe even the converted MID files? (have to search for Abuse there, I was not able to grab a direct link)
And you can even combine both methods. I once started programming a Dizzy Remake for the GP32 with a tile engine and pixel-perfect collision detection (slopes etc.) and it worked like a charm and fast and that on the old GP32.
I see your point, you use pixel collision for determining when the player is leaving a screen and in which direction. I cannot see the reason why it should not work with vertical transitions. But your images look like you really could use a tilemap (if you are not using it already). I will try...
What about something like that?
CODE
if (acseloration.X < 0.0008 and acseloration.X > -0.0008) acseloration.X = 0;
Provided you also test that no key is pressed at the time so its the phase when the character is slowing down.
I am not sure if I really understand what you want to do and I admit knowing nothing about Fenix, but I presume you have a map of the screens so why not just keep info on where to every side of every screen leads? I mean like it was made in old text adventure games, you have a room number and...
Most games I have tried seemed rubbish to me, but there are exceptions. DoomRPG is really outstanding treat of a mobile game, Nate Adams Feestyle Motocross is quite similar to Elastomania/Action Cross (if you like those, you may like NAFM too), V-Rally 3D was rather surprising for me too. I am...
I cannot say you are not right with the continual pushing of the release date, yet notice how the developers are trying to keep the price same not only when facing up difficulties (having to find a different source for some parts) but also when adding features. You can say any large company...
As I was at work, I just downloaded the first free application I could google up ;)
The fate wanted it to be Audacity, which seems to be friends with Ubuntu. Have to admit there was some skipping in the emulated music at times, but it might have been just this PC or a wrong settings in Handy or...
I am not too familiar with the system, but what about using an emulator and recording the music from it?
I tried Handy for Windows, recorded a sample of the music and upped it in OGG on Rapidshare so you can check how it sounds.
Skeezix: As my GP2X is reduced to about one or two short sessions per week, I presently usually make a small progress in Metal Mutant in OutcaST (no flattering :)) or in Cave Story. An adventure game might be a good option too, even for 20 minutes.
Is it really uncomfortable? Have to admit it never occured to me. You are right that you have to tilt the device a bit, but you can also help it by tilting your hands towards yourself as well. Actually it feels better when you hold the GP2X (or GP32) from the top using the shoulder buttons, you...
My first thoughts were like that when I signed up to the mailing list today, but then I realized that not everyone is going to preorder just because they are interested in the news and also that far from everyone will preorder immediately after receiving the message :) And even if we miss the...
... to say the least.
On topic though, the EEE surely does have its appeal, but no mass-market computer can compete with scene devices be it a one originating out of the scene (GP32, GP2X) or in it (Pandora). I myself can't wait to try what it is going to offer and especially looking forward to...
