using the adduser? I could try that now.
ok I tried "menu/system/usermanager" and get caught in a loop where the dialogue box keeps asking for a user name every time I hit ok after entering a user name...
I used # adduser from a root cli and created a password. The /home/newuser is created...
The pnds launched from system and from the taskbar stopped working over the weekend. cli from normal user never worked but the system menu and taskbar icons used to. NOW I can only start it manually from root and I dont know why either.
Looks like a full install is in order. Does not make...
OK everything in /etc/sudoers.d comes out as
-r--r----- 1 root root [date] /etc/sudoers.d/[file]
BUT
/etc/group is this
-rw-r----- 1 root root [date] /etc/group
and here are a few important lines:
adm:x:4:kosmos
dialout:x:20:kosmos,root
netdev:x:64003:kosmos...
Its a mini-B (male) to A (Female).
I would like to know what neat things I can do with it and how (if there is anything special).
Both the keyboard and USB-flashdrive may have not worked due to insufficient power? what can it be used for then?
thanks.
I came across a mini-usb-to-OTG cable and have two questions.
what can I use it for (hooking up a keyboard maybe?)
And how!
Just plugging it in and activating USBhost did nothing. (A usb keyboard I have atleast was not responsive....
In normal user mode the USB and Wifi toggles stopped working. (OP is running SZ1.5 off of SD).
The nand version of SZ1.5 works fine so it is not physical.
Also, back on the SD version I can toggle them from root but not from normal user.
by using su
then typing
#...
Well I was hoping that upgrading to SZ 1.5 on my SD would fix this but it seems that the default shell for root is still 'sh' and requires applying the fix above.
Glad I saved it ;-) Cause I had to do it again today! I prefer a red-prompt with a # for my root access as a warning from doing...
I knew this would come up and asked previously on how to backup a PanDebian install to restore it. Well, there were no working answers!
So NOW I have just upgraded my SD to a 64GB. I copied over all my PanDebian files needed.
/mnt/pnd/Pandebian...
/mnt/utmp/Pandebian...
Does recording in audacity work with the updated kernel yet? I still need top be able to boot into 2.6 to use record in Audacity. will the new kernel break this or fix it?
Xiphos has the advantage of using the crosswire project and allows download a MANY bible versions and helps in MANY languages and is used in repressive countries also as one can make their own copy of the module repos available offline or passed across borders on CD, etc. I also found it now is...
Well, two solutions are finally here...
0) the prequel was to run Windows 3.11 in Qemu and then run an old copy of Quick Verse 4. Not efficient@all!
1) First off is that I installed Debian on an SD and then installed Xiphos from the Debian repository. Debian-on-an-SD is very easy albeit...
If I reflash SuperZaxxon in the future... I will still have the loopback file. I could skip the entire process of recreation and reinstallation of Pandebian if I knew how to setup the chroot and loopback file manually.
I found how to do it in Ubuntu but that wont work in angstrom.
Can someone yet tell me where is the script or file that I would need to use to re-attatch a premade loopfile so that I do not have to recreate this pandebian install again should we all upgrade or reflash our pandora distro?
I made a 2gb loopback and am running OO and Xiphos Bible no problems...
I got PanDebian Squeeze going today. Wifi worked great and had no problems once I disabled screenblanking.
Now I am running dd to duplicate my SD card to another matching SD. Man is it SLOOOOOOW!
So now I have a file "Debian-Squeex.lb" and want to back that up (easy) and have a way to reinstall it maniually so I do not need to go through all this setup again.
Do I simply backup the 2 PanDebian AppData folders? Is there a script that auto runs and places the menu entry in the System menu?
