I use my Pandora to learn Linux wherever I am at. I finally can say that I use Linux (PCLinuxOS, Debian, & Andgstrom) as primary OS. Windows is now just the family desktop for gaming.
Part of this then is that I am now using my Pandora for learning to use GCC and Python and break away from...
I have 2 cracks at the hing and one on the top/lid corner. Solved both with a "super glue gel" which looks rough and tumbled but has held up well for a number of months. I have a spare case and watched the ""Pandora How to replace an LCD Cable" video.
The only part missing in this excellent...
Well I watched the video on replacing the cable... Argh, I will continue to glue any new cracks until I absolutely have to replace the case. Too fiddly for me right now!
Especially since the LCD seems glued/taped to one side of the lid.
MAYBE when I get a second Pandora I MIGHT brave it.
I Do...
I have "DriveDroid" for my Galaxy Player which lets me load ISOs and use my Android as a bootable HD to run PCLinux or Debian on any computer using the Android as the CD.
Your idea sounds similar and I will definitely look into it. I like hainv tools like that handy and although I have never...
yes, not sure when Ill need it except for things like external hard drives. I mostly use flash sticks and thought that having an external eth0 would be a handy backup in case my router goes out... Or I just want some hardline security...
Not sure what I will use it for but the 3 USB ports was...
How did you know it was bnep0?
I'd never have guessed it? Got it here.

I just picked up a Kensington version. How do I get it to work though?
So, can I learn something new today? I would like to have a hard eth0 to fall back on. Plus having 3 USBs is really great. Gonna have some fun...
How do I start it for eth0 though?
.
Just turning on USB-host... Then...
OK, I downloaded mhwaveedit and now can record via the builtin mic.
Thanks.
I still hope for Audacity to get fixed and am glad that the problem is with Audacity and not the Pandora.
Where is that? I have to boot into 2.6 to get Audacity to work and would love to use the Mic in 3.2 but was not able to.
Where would I find this solution. This is from an old thread about Audacity and the mic not working in 3.2.
Audacity by slaeshjag (port) - 6.67MB, 1.3 - 25/4/2011

I was concerned about it wearing or scratching off. I had a Silver DS years ago and, although I really prefer black, would not be put off by silver if the color was durable.
I currently have a Rebirth black edition and am considering a second 1ghz edition. my oly concern is that my current black case has many repairs from cracking. I read that the silver case is a better plastic but that it is painted and due to scratching off.
Is this true? And can an improved...
After some research and practice I got it working. My solution is below and can be used to create multiple Debian systems for testing.
Loop File Name:
/media/Pandora64/PanDebian-squeeze
Desktop Icon Name in: 'launcher'
Info stored in: 'launcher.sosume'
Extract the PanDebian.pnd to...
Is there a way to edit the PanDebian.pnd. I tried extracting it with fileroller and then editing the PXML and launcher. I then used mksquashfs PanDebian-dir PanDebian.pnd
Does not work.
BTW I am using PCLinuxOS to extract and mksquashfs.
My reason is to do some work on a test Debian without...
I did...
I already said why... MORE INFO: I am doing some Arduino robotics work I am in need of Software Powerdown.
Now, I notice that this only happens when external power is used. Is there an easy way to check if power is external/charging or not? I am guessiing that charging is somehow...
You may be right. I had a backup partition on the second card with a backup pandora directory. It seems that the matching directories on 2 cards/partitions were conflicting. Moving the backup partition data to a subdirectory on the partition seems to have solved the problem.
I ran op_standby from the cli and when it came back the CPU was set to 125mhz and the screen was at brightness=0.
This worked fine from 1.5 and running a script for this worked just like holding the power-button. Now the button works but the script has the above bug.
Still treading lightly...
Three more reinstalls of SZ 1.52 and it keeps happening. I am losing permissions andd can no longer toggle usb or wifi except by su to root..
I will keep doing reinstalls and slowly try to narrow it down. I have a backup of my old settings and they were fine until yesterday so that it can't...
