    Gp2x Stick Replacement Petition

That was a relatively easy part to do... once I finally found an apropriate chip. (and learned to program it) Well... at least GPH made that modification what you were suggesting. So it's not that hopeless... MKIII anyone? (but it'd be a riot by ones who got older units  )...

    I Just Got My Gp2x!!!

Unfortunately the stick doesn't have any angle constrains. It means it can be moved at every degree (thought it can only register discrete directions). This is a problem for some people - it doesn't give any feedback at what direction is being pushed mechanically. So those mistakes can happen...

    GP2X Some Gp2x Specific Questions..

Very good thread about it: http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=27433 You should find here anwers for rest your question too.

That's a very impressive stuff!! And problem with the: http://blackbox.jconserv.net/index.php is that there is no real data about almost anything. (it looks like just a forum imho...) And made an quick search for the Propeller chips: http://www.parallax.com/propeller/index.asp Nice or not but...

Most consoles CPUs are far less powefull then comparing to theirs data sheets. The N64 for an example - it has 64 bit MIPS4300 derivate at 93.75MHz however it's permonance is seriously compromised. It was so because the CPU had to talk to memory vie the RCP chip and a massive rdram latency...

    GP2X The Coprocessor

Not exactly - it's used for video data parsing as the main task of video decoding is done by one of the other GP2x's coprocessor - the VideoProcessor (and there some others too) Some are trying - I know about that Jaguar emu. I'm not that up the date thought, sorry. Oh yes - it certainly...

I didn't - sorry. Here you have a link (from almost the beginning): http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=26613 (it's a long topic so be patient or jump to the latest pages) It isn't that complicated but it shows very well some obstacles. That's good but... be realistic. I'd like to...

Amiga Suxorz!!!11 What A.. No Carrier

Let me say you are right and wrong at the same time. (the VGA showed first in 1987, the first Amiga was in 1985 (A1000)) However VGA got much better popularity as better graphics standard and it wasn't so featureless (it has hardware scrolling capability, split screen mode, x-modes, latch...

I don't know how to answer this well... (but I will try) That "70MHz" chips is Arm based microcontroller LPC21xx from Philips. It wouldn't be major chip of a machine. It'd act just like some kind master controller and nothing more! The actual processing would be made by FPGA type chip...

Amiga Suxorz!!!11 What A.. No Carrier

Falcon was too ambitious machine. The A1200 was much better product wise thought Falcon was overall technically superior. At those times the PC was starting to dominate because of VGA and hardrives what were common on PC. VGA like capability should be in STE! And STE should have faster CPU...

The "70Mhz" chip what I was talking about is an Arm7 based µC from Philips. It costs 3$ in a detail. It's far less capable than Arm what we have in GP2x. In my idea it'd only acts as some kind "master controller" for the rest of a system and most of the work would be done by FPGA chip. The...

You know probably about my little project of stick replacement, don't you? Simple as it's looking but there were many considerations. It ended using an µC chip and some parts from some cell phone. (and it taken lots of time so find suitable µC because of needed voltage tolerance, power...

Those are very nice but Virtex isn't cheap. To be realist the Spartan series have to be used and they are quite powerfull anyway. For sure would outperform any Arm if a task could written in HDL.

Anyone Tried The Vista Public Beta?

For my eventual PC upgrades I'm considering now: AMD Athlon Geode NX2001 - only 6W of power at 1Ghz and it can run up to 2.2Ghz (if needed). So I could remove one fan from my case. Thermaltake PurePower 350W Fanless - another one fan what could be removed. My current drive is 2.5 Toshiba...

Anyone Tried The Vista Public Beta?

Well... in the old DOS days configuration of a PC had to be done manually. But it was so hard? PC were quite simple then - no special drivers for graphics cards (VGA was hardware level standard and VESA BIOS was in... eprom chips on cards themselves). There were some playing with I/O ports and...

Anyone Tried The Vista Public Beta?

And many of us (Linux users and Windows users too who might have enough of constant push of hardly improving productivity things) don't. At least don't so often now. I still don't know in how Vista flashy GUI would improve my C coding for an example? Is it so hard to comprehend a concept of...

Anyone Tried The Vista Public Beta?

No... it's a premptive move to get some hold on a possible huge future market. It might looks like a "goodness" but it's not the reason thought some nice PR like this is for sure welcome by company execs. As a child I hadn't been having any problem using mouseless, guiless 8-bit...

Ninja is a reasonable project. It couldn't get into a market because... you know you have to be competitive price wise with other systems and you will be having hard time doing so buying parts in a small quantity. Then there must be a case produced, all designed, tested, a firmware written...
