This looks like a really great game - beautiful graphics from the screenshots. I'll hold of trying out the PC version though, so it's a nice suprise for when the Pandora port is complete.
Nice one Pickle!
Nothing justifies hostility. The guy asked a simple question and Craig responded with hostility. This is wrong and there was quite simply no need.
Fridges and washing machines are a (currently) a very different beast when we talk about the computer inside them. They (currently) don't store any...
I wouldn't worry. It seems that Craig has an obsession with dressing like he's from a period-drama* (and I'm not talking about Carrie)
*What I mean is he likes to dress smartly - unlike most of us who prefer to throw on a crupled T-Shirt and smelly old hoody. Though, I actually bought a...
As has been said before, the P2 needs something to distinguish/seperate it from the 'big boys'. I don't think having a keyboard is enough.
"Runs linux out of the box" is a distinguishing factor but let's face it - us linux enthusiasts are NOT a big market. Sad but true.
Android of course...
I just want working wifi...
I hope Android isn't going to be the main OS for P2 or at least there will be the option of linux. I guess though, Android will be the main OS and that will get the attention (updates, fixes etc). Hmmm, I guess Android will look more attractive to the 'normal'...
Very interesting thread.
The only thing I can add is that I'm on of those people who bought a Pandora mianly because it ran linux (but also that it could run SNES games perfectly!). I would also be very unhappy if Pandora2 didn't run linux. I like Android a lot but linux is where it's at for...
Sadly, that was not the problem but happily, I found what the problem was!
It was getting stuck on trying to mount the nfs drives :-)
...still have the slow wifi problem though :-(
I did indeed wait yes. I even flashed back to the previous version and waited. Same problem I'm afraid :-(
Certain. I considered this myself but If I copy the same file to an SD Card it plays just fine.
I rarely deal with hi-def video and I tested videos I created using a Pentium III...
@Streak : I too have found this problem. I can connect to my mums router (cannot remember what make/model) and surf in a reasonably useable way but downloading files just fails after a short while. Essentially useless. Back home, my 'router' is actually an always-on PC running Debian and using...
"maybe the nand is maxed."
By that you mean, it's screwed? I must admit I haven't done a fschk on it - I thought I would ask here first.
EDIT: Hang on, do you perhaps mean that it is full - i.e. no space left? I have to say, I hadn't even considered that. Will check tonight :-)
Two issues:
1. Does anyone know why (or how to find out) why my unit takes well over 5 minutes to boot up?
It started happening after I re-flashed with Hotfix7 alpha. It all went well but boot took longer than I expected. I read that after a re-flash it could take longer to boot up but...
I've been using handbrake on ubuntu for a while now - it produces very nice qualty rips and requires one or two clicks. It would be trivial to put together a PC that did Just This, I.E. boot up into a stripped down X and autostart handbrake. I have also used AcidRip (also on ubuntu).
The...
Well, after recently recieving my unit I was dissapointed to find that wifi refused to work on my set-up (It's a 'homemade' router running linux but I have _never_ had a problem with even a single other device). However, when I took the Pandora to my mums my Pandora worked pretty well - it was...
Fair enough.
I'm not angry either. Just mildy irritated at what _appears_ to be deception (only _appears_ - there may be actual honest reasons for everything).
I would never go as far as direct insults though - life is too short for getting petty. It's only a console...it's only money and we...
I can understand your anger RenegadeChic.
I have had similar problems and had to really bite my lip when dealing with old craig.
The thing he doesn't seem to realise is that if he's dealing with the customer, then he has to play the game correctly. Be honest with them and certainly don't be...
