With full steam into the new year!

OMG, I really, really want the transparent casing! Please! Not only is it beautiful, but it is also a security measure: It is harder for third party to bug the device unnoticed.

    Pyra at FOSDEM?

Will there be a chance to see and/or touch a Pyra at FOSDEM? If so, where and when?

    Power, Memory and Schematics

I hate threads about licenses, I hate discussing them, I hate licenses. I'm software developer and electrical engineer and business person, not a lawyer. But my life as software developer, esp. as active member of one of the largest free software projects in existence, as electrical engineer...

    Power, Memory and Schematics

Many thanks for the update and your hard work! Better sleep more and deliver later. I'm really impatient about getting the Pyra in my hands, but not at the price of your health, please! Memory: I ordered a 4GB Pyra, but I think I can live easily with the 2GB variant as well :~) Also 2GB means...

    Pyra circuit diagrams available?

@hns: KiCad evolved a lot in the last ~2 years or so, probably the CERN funding helped a lot. If you didn't like it some years back, maybe it is time to give it another chance. One of my colleagues who did also like Eagle much more than KiCad some years ago, changed completely their mind. YMMV...

    Pyra circuit diagrams available?

Neo900 used it, but (fortunately) moved away from proprietary Eagle to free KiCad, according to https://neo900.org/news/migrating-away-from-eagle-to-kicad#feature In my company, we used to use Eagle for smaller and medium size projects, but phased it out in favour of KiCad, too. For really big...

May I still change my casing colour?

If I add red, green, and blue, I get white. If I substract cyan, magenta, and yellow, I get black :~) The former is not possible with the material, I assume.

May I still change my casing colour?

Well, I can live with black just fine. As long as it is not red, green, or blue or any mixture of them, it's OK.

    Pyra circuit diagrams available?

Hi, are the circuit diagrams of Pyra available to the public? If so, where can I find them? Some git repo? Which program is used for Pyras circuits and PCBs? KiCad? geda? TIA!

May I still change my casing colour?

Hi, when I ordered my Pyra, I asked for a (boring) black or coal colour casing. Now I changed my mind and prefer a transparent one. Transparency rules! Will there be transparent Pyras? Can I still change the order? How? What shall I do? TIA! PS: If it's too late or transparent will not be...

    expensive?

In my company we produced something very similar to the Pyra: A Debian Linux based computer with its own designed casing, with a few hundred to max. one thousand devices produced per year, with a completely custom design made by us. However, it is a measurement device not a gaming console (and...

    Comprehensive Status update!

I don't care about Christmas, but I would be very happy to hold a Pyra in my hands during FOSDEM! If the ones to sell are not ready by FOSDEM, that's OK, but let us at least see and touch a prototype in action in Bruxelles! But do it like Debian: Release, when it's ready! Thanks in advance!

what rom do you use on your droid 4

I'm using CM12, no GApps, just F-Droid. My plan is, however, getting rid of Android completely as soon as I have the Pyra. The idea is to use a SIP application such as Ekiga on the Pyra as mobile phone.

GPD Win (x86 Computer / Palmtop)

Does it run Linux (with free drivers)? As long as it only runs Windows, they can as well sell it for 1 USD and I won't buy it.

    2GB version worth it?

Looking at the pre-order stats, only 1.7% of all orders are for a 2GB version, while 98.3% are 4GB orders. From my own company I know that every product variant has their overhead for administration, production, and warehousing. Is it worth keeping the 2GB variants alive? Just curious, no...

Patchy kernel? (or other software components)

Many thanks for your elaborate answer! This looks not too bad for the world of ARM. Let's hope, that at least the divergence will decrease, not increase. I have the gut feeling, that Pyra might become very popular in the Debian community! Let's see how many Pyras we will see in future DebConfs...

Abusing Pyra as communication device (needs camera)

Thank you for this hint! The Neo900 is a very interesting project indeed. It runs free software from bottom to top, so that's fine, even if it is not Debian :~) The keyboard is probably not as good as the Pyra ones and the price is much higher. I will definitely follow both projects closer now...

Patchy kernel? (or other software components)

Hi, sorry, if this is an FAQ: How much is the kernel different from a stock Debian kernel package? Are there any other packages patched or different from standard Debian? Are additional packages needed for running the Pyra, that are not part of Debian? If patches or additions are necessary...

Abusing Pyra as communication device (needs camera)

OK, I will probably buy a Pyra (standard 4GB version) as soon as it is available and than try which external camera is the least inconvenient. Maybe I will try with a box around the the Pyra containing both camera and headset. Maybe the Pyra is in fact the wrong device for my purpose...

Abusing Pyra as communication device (needs camera)

Yes, I can find a lot in the online stores, but maybe you or anybody else can point me to one, that fits exceptionally well on the Pyra? E.g. would this one http://www.amazon.com/Generic-Retractable-WebCam-Camera-Computer/dp/B00E39TZBY cover parts of the screen when clipped on the Pyra? (Linux...
