    Test the keymat!

Two more Pyra photo links from Berlin, the last ones from my side: https://framasphere.org/posts/3254573 https://framasphere.org/posts/3254726 Have fun and please post about Pyra in the Social Media, not only boring Facebook or Twitter etc., but in the cool, free, federated ones like...

    Test the keymat!

The products of our company are used (sometimes) by construction workers. Maybe this audience is different than the average Pandora/Pyra geek :~) Another photo: https://framasphere.org/posts/3248839 Two more photos: https://framasphere.org/posts/3249988 All Pyra related stuff in Diaspora* is...

    Test the keymat!

Ah, sure! :~) Yes, they did not work well. Might be much better when the Pyra is complete.

    Test the keymat!

OK, here my remarks about keymat and other aspects: I love the transparent casing! Maybe one can later replace the black with a transparent one? The keymat is better than expected given its size. Without a functioning system it is hard to tell, how easy it is to e.g. use vi or Emacs. The...

    Test the keymat!

More photos will follow soon, but I'll go to bed now. Have fun: https://framasphere.org/posts/3244705

    Test the keymat!

Will do! Is there a specific thread (this one?) for the test or shall I just open a new one? I already posted one picture in Diaspora*: https://framasphere.org/posts/3236282 Btw. I had the luck, that two groups of people took a look on the Pyra prototype: First, five of my colleagues, all of...

Money makes the world go round.

I agree completely. There is a market (not a huge one, but a not-so-small niche) for small computers you can carry in your bag - and you can trust. So no mobile phone, less so with any mainstream OS and proprietary drivers. As soon as I get my Pyra, I'll show it all my friends. They will turn...

Quite a bit for you to read!

How lovely is the transparent case! I really, really want the transparent one! :~)

    Pyra without decent web browser?

Thanks for pointing me to Epiphany. I tried it many years ago and was not convinced, but now it seems to be very good. Even my bank accepts it! :~) Proprietary Software? Not even once!

    Pyra without decent web browser?

Everybody can manipulate Debian bugs by email. No registration or special status required! :~)

    Pyra without decent web browser?

If I'm not mistaken, this requires repackaging the orig tarball, typically with a +dfsg added to the version. Many packages are re-tarred just to remove non-free artefacts.

    Pyra without decent web browser?

Even if we get really OT here: There are minified JS files, such as /third_party/web-animations-js/sources/web-animations.min.js and ./third_party/catapult/third_party/polymer/components/web-animations-js/web-animations.min.js (almost same file, but different size) for which I could not find...

    Pyra without decent web browser?

I'm going OT here, but I wonder why Chromium is part of Debian testing or stable anyway: #787527 : Some sources are not included in your package (doesn't this make it non-free?) #792580 : Chromium calls home even in incognito mode with safe browsing turned off (not a nice thing for Debians...

Expected runtime of Pyra and clock rate

I thought especially about interactive usage, like IM chat, where the bottleneck is the user. A faster CPU doesn't make me think and type faster :~) But let's see, how the Pyra will behave, when it's ready. I just hope, that one will be able to down-cycle the CPU for use cases, where CPU does...

Expected runtime of Pyra and clock rate

Are there any ideas, how long the battery of the Pyra will last when using it in a "light" way, i.e. not playing games, just editing text and low bandwidth wifi, i.e. not watching video streams, but doing text chatting? 1 hour? 10 hours? Will it be possible to reduce the clock rate to improve...

    Pyra without decent web browser?

One of the main reasons for buying a Pyra is the ability to browse the web. This is much more important to me than using Pyra for playing games - if I want that at all. Unfortunately, browsing the web might become difficult. The Pyra will run the Debian armhf architecture. The Rust programming...

May I still change my casing colour?

OK, so I vote for transparency! :~)

May I still change my casing colour?

Probably. I asked for a black casing in a comment or text field, IIRC. Just to be sure not to get the wine coloured one.

    Pyra at FOSDEM?

Any news on this? Will anybody with a Pyra be at FOSDEM? Would be cool!

May I still change my casing colour?

After seeing the latest beautiful photos of transparent Pyra, I have to admit, it would be a very big deal!
