R.B can't get it to work - he's found that it's no longer a handheld, not with a controller glued to it (too heavy) and I daresay it's not living up to his expectations:
The mind truly boggles when you consider that he thought that this would be "another good idea" :)
So come on folks, let's...
Y'Know, your signature has given me an idea - instead of multiple pics of that sony dual-screen gizmo, I could get small pics of each console Red Baron has bought and subsequently sold....
Nah, it'd not fit on-screen!
D.
Selling already, RB? My, you do surprise me. You're pure comedy, you know that? A whole series of heart attacks, eh? Never mind, I'm sure someone as bright as you will figure it out, you are an elite asm coder after all!

:-D
Actually, I have tried one and to be honest, it's not really a usable PC and an even worse gaming device. Aside from the abysmal controls and keyboard, the screen is really slow at updating (it's quite old, after all - older than the Pandora). Putting Vista on one of these results in a...
Heh - RB is registered at EAB's forums and is selling his new console:

(Edit: He's now found a way to make it work, so not for sale! Didn't take him long though!)
Glad he got it running, now he's made a mock-up of his new "handheld":
Good god...
Looks nice - but we need the ability to add multiple applications per PND and also multiple screenshots per application. Also don't forget to add <HF6 compatibility to the PXML files!

Your phone has double the vertical resolution (rotated 90 degrees for the Canoe) so downscaling isn't much of an issue, especially with a decent filter to smooth out the missing pixels. The Canoe on the other hand has to lose a huge amount of pixels in order to fit both screens at once; no...
Erm... Have you not noticed the number of games that are coming out? There's some real gems in there - Grim Fandango and Homeworld have only very recently been ported for example, and the repo is filling up with new stuff...
Unless you define the success of the Pandora by its emulation?
D.
Really? The Canoe screen is what, 320x240? Each screen on the DS is 256x192. The only way you could get both screens on at once is to scale one or both of them. I'm sorry, but until we solve the problem of displaying both screens on the Canoe, we're not going to see any DS emulation :(

One of them is a re-listing, one is a one-nubber, one is from someone who no longer plays games and one is from someone who ordered it 2-3 years ago and when it arrived found it lacking in power. That's one auction in the 7 you posted that is selling because it's not good enough.
I'm not sure...
Once you get over the problem of the screens, anything is possible I would have thought. Does the canoe have TV-Out? Can it be used as a top-screen, with the bottom (touch) screen on the canoe?
D.
Because Pandora isn't for everyone? Because (dare I say it?) it requires a modicum of intelligence and the willingness to apply oneself to using it? Some people bought it thinking it's another GP2X or Canoe, and it quite obviously isn't.
D.
Sorry mate, but that's even worse on my pandora - previously it was just a slow framerate (with the game moving at the correct speed), now it's jerking quite badly about 4 times/sec.
D.
I have to say, I'm in agreement with Chris here. GPH do indeed pucker up at the rear and inhale. I also agree that the GP2X F100 I have sitting here is orders of magnitude better built than the Pandora. It's just a shame it's a piece of crap.
D.
Ah yes - my save game was near the start of the sand world. Looks lovely, but it's a real shame it's not as smooth or playable as the GP2X version via Ginge - I shall watch this one develop (if it does) with interest :)
Thanks for the port, but for now I'll stick to Ginge for Cave Story :)
