Oh sorry guys forgot the package manager contained every single bit of software ever created or even conceived. In fact no one would ever need to add additional respositries or compile from source code ever. If they do that must make them stupid.
Man guys like you are so annoying in the I.T...
Yes it's all the manufacturers fault they decided to raise the prices of their machines to offer a far inferior product. Dell who decided to sell some Linux laptops dropped them due to lack of demand and support issues. Hell the majority of advanced users who build machines themselves would use...
Actually they are getting pretty common these days especially in workplaces. How many casual users do you suppose could handle compiling a package from source? About none so it isn't suitable for casual users at all, if they ever wanted to try a multi monitor setup I doubt that is going to...
So basically your saying Linux is better if you don't use it how people normally use computer. Yep superior indeed.
It doesn't matter if it is or isn't Linux's fault it ties in with how you use the system. Zune was pretty decent music platform but since noone else came to the table it died...
Last time I installed it.
Meh anyways clearly you are fanboi's because quite frankly even the most hardcore and dedicated linux server admins I know use either OSX or Windows as their desktops OS. The same reason I do because it is easier and it is a far superior desktop.
Linux is great...
Doesn't matter, Gnome, KDE, Cinnamon or whatever it just doesn't give the same experience.
Sure I am an advanced user and I can get it working but when I am working I don't want to spend time mucking around with dependencies just to get something fairly basic working.
Windows is far...
I love linux just not their GUI. Linux is not in the same ballpark in the desktop market.
Last time I used Linux as a desktop was probably 6 months ago.
Overhead or not WIndows is still a superior Desktop for home users. Now servers... that is where Linux really shines.
Virtual desktops, it is just so much smoother than it has been with any Linux version I have used, kinda surprising since this is the first time it has been integrated into the system. Personally while I love linux for servers Windows smashes Linux on usability when it comes to desktops...
Has anyone used WIndows 10 yet? I have and it is bloody amazing, I was expecting it to be a bit rough around the edges but it feels extremely polished and some features like virtual desktops they do heaps better than linux.
I remember using windows 7 preview and I remember being impressed but...
Hardest thing is to find the right thing to sell and getting your name out there. Also make sure you know how you are going to ship everything.
I am in the process of shutting down my shop because there just isn't a big enough market here to justify it. I didn't lose money but it isn't making...
I would recommend getting a better looking case.
That one is just boring. If you are spending close on 1000 pounds on a build you should get something more exciting and flashy. Also spending more on a case now means chances are next time you won't buy another case.
Either they are realizing that far too many people have been burned and are not backing anymore.
Or they will offer insurance on extremely vetted projects which pretty much succeed and doing a cash grab.
On another note I wonder whatever happened to Craig and if he is still alive?
Linux as a desktop is terrible for the average user though. The desktop has improved greatly over the years but it is still behind windows (Well perhaps not 8 anyway) and they are probably looking at productivity costs.
There is a reason why windows dominates the business end of things.
Ok so my shoulder got looked at on the weekend and it was a mix of good news and bad news.
The good news is that it is healing fairly quickly and I didn't damage the rotator cuff,.
The bad news is I damaged the cartilage. If you don't know cartilage can be terrible to damage because of how...
I might have wrecked my shoulder this morning. It's sore but hopefully it is ok I really don't want any more downtime from lifting.
Now I lift early in the morning at around 5:30 since that time suits me the best. I was pretty tired this morning and was a bit sloppy but I figured hey I am not...
