    Gngeo V0.7beta3

It's a beta, and some function does not work correctly (save state for ex). You can try it just for the fun ;) As for batteries life, IIRC, some people done test with PicoDrive, and using 2 core is better than one overclocked core. An other feature that don't work right now is per game config...

    Gngeo V0.7beta3

I didn't tried AOF3, but IIRC it use a lot of scaling, that's why I think the fps is not steady. For a game like Garou, when the SD card is not accessed, I got 60fps @200Mhz @22050Hz. From what I know, the DMA is not working on the gp2x, so it can explain the slowdown we got with games that...

    Gngeo V0.7beta3

Ok as expected, this beta do not work very well. I'll try to post a new one soon. I've also find that selector do not help very much here. I usually start gngeo from a telnet session, and it work quite well, but from selector, it's as the 940 is underclocked, and the emulation is slower.. I'll...

Q: Which Emus Can Use Usb Controllers?

Configuration is done by editing the gngeorc file in the conf folder. You should look at a line like this: CODE p1joy 2,3,0,1,5,4,0,1,1,1 These numbers correspond to the folowing: A,B,C,D,START,COIN,AXE_X,AXE_Y,AXE_X_DIR,AXE_Y_DIR I think that for most joystick, AXE_X Y and AXE_X_DIR...

Q: Which Emus Can Use Usb Controllers?

This beta version of gngeo should support usb joystick too, but only for player one for now (configuring the key mapping is a nightmare too :) ). http://m.peponas.free.fr/gngeo/download/gngeo0.7a-beta2.zip

    Neogeo Problem

You have to reinstall gngeo from scratch. Gngeo 0.7 search the bios differently than before (a new option is available in conf.gngeorc).

Some News Of Things To Come...

You're indeed right. my first emulator was a gamboy one. And I found the neogeo a lot more simple :D I'm considering it. But the sound chip used is the Neogeo is a little more complicated than the genesis.

    Gp2x Package Manager

.deb is not a .tar.gz, it's an ar archive. You can see the content of a deb file with ar: # ar t toto.deb debian-binary control.tar.gz data.tar.gz

12Mhz 68000. And the video system of the neogeo is finally pretty simple.

    Gp2x Package Manager

To be more precise, a .deb is a simple archive made by ar (much like a lib actually :D ) containing some scripts and .tar.gz files.

Guess What? A Port Of Gpsp (gba) To The Gp2x...

I don't think getting rid of linux will give many advantage. Linux don't really eat many cycles. IIRC, Squidge did some test and the difference weren't noticeable. The only advantage would be taking control over interrupt but I don't clearly see why it would be need. Anyway, I'm impatient to...

Some News Of Things To Come...

I'm pretty confident that fullspeed psx is possible on GP2X. Comparing spec of various system to see which one can be emulated just don't work. And even if it's not possible to emulate PSX, it's fun to do, and I'm sure that's why most coders do it. Zodttd, Unai, Chui and Tinnus, keep up the...

    GP2X 3 Processes?

Indeed. IIRC, if you use sound with SDL, it create a thread to handle it. So you have your main thread, the sound thread, and a last one that manage them.

    Help Setting Up Gngeo

Actually, it's a feature of the bios. It do some internal check of the various memory, including the video memory. @nemt: As for region setting and/or censorship, you can try to use unibios. With it, you can freely choose the region.
