Some of the nix/windows doom engine ports have added support for next/previous weapon binds. Perhaps if we politely make a feature request we might see it in later builds.
I am a little confused about the purpose of this.
Does this USB module make it so you can connect the GP2X to the PC and use the connection like it was a serial cable connection (debugging etc)?
bjimba: not sure... I haven't seen any of the mplayer source.. so i take it that it is also not released yet. If GPH are aiming for compliance like we are led to believe they are, then we should see the modified mplayer source soon too... but I wouldn't hold my breath. ;)
Perhaps instead someone could work on porting/writing a software 3D renderer and tweaking that. I am sure that better performance could be found from a software renderer instead of trying to emulate (sort of) openGL which is reliant on 3D hardware. Just a thought.... :D
Might try this... I was a little put off by the lack of grip on such a small stick. I may also rip apart a DC controller and use the stick off one of those. Not sure yet.
Crap... I didn't read all the options... just clicked the first one cause I want an official CVS setup....
Anyways, there is a little part of me in every one of those options. Part says "give us the code then go back into oblivion so we can make a better kernel", part of me says "I will only...
True that... I understand what you are saying when you relate it to emus and games. The way I see it though GPH has only voided GPL in terms of the kernel and if they were to comply straight away and then start incorporating ppls fixes and including them in the doco for it then I don't think...
And the problem is.... I am sure all devs would like to help out GPH... just as long as they give credit where credit is due... AND release the source with each new firmware.
Wow... most impressive. Did he have to reverse engineer it another stack to get the feelf or it, or did he use the leaked info on the net? It seems like the SD format is a highly internal 'trade secret' kind of module. Props to Rob anyways!
MiniMoose: SD Card support is one of the main problems alot of ppl are having. Would we have to use/write an SD card module for Open2X?
I have seen a couple of open source drivers for SD card stacks.
This site sounds the most promising for info on Open SD Stacks...
This is not true.... think about it... the GPL is all about free source... how can they be in the same boat as M$ and others (which you did mention) in regards to source code for software.
If you meant, "GPL is a formidable institution that will protect itself if violated"... then yes... they...
If dialogue continues along the path it is at now, then DJWillis is right in saying an open community GPH CVS is not a possability. If and When we get the source code (and my god it better be up to date!!!!) then we would be best to just take it and start over... make our own standard...
I didn't finish reading the thread after this.... I just wanted to comment on this little flame war going on between you two.
Since when was CraigX ever officially inducted into the GPH development/buisness team. He is a distributor. He is doing everything he can for the community. And what...
MiniMosse: You surprised me... for a little while there I thought you WERE an M$ employee :P (no hard feelings... )
Your recent post makes much more sense to me... but I don't think that it is Open2X projects fault if GPH have no patch/buggzilla setup for submiting community fixes. If GPH were...
Doh!.... I registered an account, then setup a request for a project (GP2niX).... but I made a mistake on the description. Can I change this later?
Thanks for the hard work RiXOR. Most appreciated.
