    Software Pandora Audio Switch

the almighty ptitseb mentioned the other day, that in the scope of a pnd HOME gets diverted to the appdata folder. try to put your .asoundrc into audacious' appdata folder. this is actually just a wild guess (and i don't think that's the problem here), but you might try.

    Software Pandora Audio Switch

ALSA should read both files. You can check if its configured to do so -> /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf In it's default state it should read both. For a change, try setting your audio output to bt using pas.sh and then try to play a file using mplayer: mplayer path/to/some/mp3file without any other...

exactly. that's actually the real purpose of the script. to have different .asoundrc files predefined (.asoundrc_bt_headset, .asoundrc_bt_carstereo) and use the script to switch em easily. it will be covered in the tutorial to come. im still at work...

    Bluetooth headset status?

with ALSA's general bluetooth.conf autodetection of devices never worked for me. go ahead and try. i do advise to set a correct MAC.

    Bluetooth headset status?

ALSA parses the config files on it's own, out of the scope of any PND. i'd like to investigate how gmu invokes mplayer to play the files. because plain mplayer works the way it should. okay, back from work, so here are the files (the switch script - audioswitch.sh is in the attached .zip file)...

    Bluetooth headset status?

ALSA is giving me a terrible headache, but i found a config which works quite well! at first i thought: wait, maybe switching files isn't necessary at all. ALSA tries hard to figure out what kind of setup you are trying to use and to provide some sort of fallback if something fails...

    Bluetooth headset status?

that's right. using bluetooth and the onboard wifi simultaneously == no joy. but bluetooth + usb wifi == superduper.

    Bluetooth headset status?

thats right. im trying to provide proper alsa config files for different use cases (system wide bt - as far as thats possible - vs hw only output) and an easy way to switch 'em. basically i got bt working with most of the applications i use. im still struggeling with the rest, gmu being but...

    Bluetooth headset status?

i don't think so: in my environment, with my ALSA settings posted above, smplayer works with the exact same files without any issues. obviously the bt device can function that way and the bitrate is not a show stopper here. smplayer's settings don't offer anything special (at least that i...

    Bluetooth headset status?

kay, found the -mmmx flag in the makefile. never mind. libSDL_gfx.so was there, but no libSDL_gfx.so.0 -> a softlink did the trick. i didn't pay attention to the pndrun.out. now gmu starts fine. but it seems to ignore my bluetooth setup. it uses the internal speakers instead. Socket is enabled...

    Bluetooth headset status?

now that's weird. sdl_gfx is there, tho. (-> SDL_gfx-2.0.25) theres also SDL2_gfx, which is not installed. i am trying to build it, but it fails, telling me i am using an unknown compiler flag "-mmmx". that's nowhere to be found in the .slackbuild or env. i dunno where it's coming from :(...

    Bluetooth headset status?

i don't really play lots of games, but it works without issues with drastic on slackware 14.1. EDIT: i just checked gmu under slackware and ran into a couple of problems. slack somehow can't mount normal iso-file (i.e. non squashfs) .pnd files through pnd_run as it fails to recognize the...

    Bluetooth headset status?

you can tell ALSA that your bt device should be the default, routing all ALSA traffic through it. just like i wrote here: http://pandorawiki.org/Software_projects/OS/Slackware#Bluetooth_audio

    Release LibreOffice for Pandora

im also testing this on slackware 14.1: build 09 at least does start if i point PYTHONHOME to its /lib/python3.4 dir in runscript.sh, just like so: export PYTHONHOME="$pwd/lib/python3.4:/lib:/usr/lib" otherwise it does complain about not being able to find the "encodings" module. well, it...

    Free Lossless Image Format (FLIF)

show your work to google, facebook and pretty much every other big company. yeah i know it sounds silly, but even if they are not interested in FLIF they might see the potential behind your work and value you as an engineer/coder. once you work for one of them your income could increase...

Apple: Steve Jobs and the greatest company ever created

this is obviously about taste. how can educated ppl waste their time with waging arguments about taste? someone said they like a certain brand. if you dont: respect their point of view and be done with it. if you need to offend ppl for no reason, you can as well just go fuck yourself.
