    A Rainy Night In Soho

Or for those of us who aren't familiar with regions of London or New York, soho can mean small office / home office. It's a term sometimes used by office supply stores. I do notice a lack of office related topics in the story so far, so I'm guessing it's not about a rainy night in a small...

    Panda bot - $800 3D printer

I'm interested in the Form 1 at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/formlabs/form-1-an-affordable-professional-3d-printer?ref=live It's more expensive, but it's a stereolithography printer (shines a UV laser into a tank of liquid resin, instead of squirting melted abs plastic like other...

    Absurdism corner

Fireweapon? Sounds like flame throwers and napalm. America does have weapons besides guns. Against zombies something like Cold Steel's Brooklyn Smasher polypropylene baseball bat would be cool. Heavier than a normal baseball bat and very durable (won't break). Queensland (Australia) has...

LIFX - Iphone Light Bulb - I woke into a parrallel universe

Seeing this makes me think of Red Dwarf. Rimmer: Step up to red alert. Kryten: Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb. :) At my work (a college) we have all the lights on a network. When we moved into the building it took a while to get things set up right, for...

How would you prefer to save progress?

Maybe this is safe on the pandora, but on other platforms the mac id isn't always unique. I've had several network cards that come with a program that lets you set the mac to anything you want. Most devices these days probably use the universally administered address scheme, but locally...

Pandora Crosscompiler Toolchain Based On Openpandora.org Ipks

Nope, I wasn't root or sudo'd. I tried putting Ubuntu (64 bit) on my main desktop machine (already had an old ubuntu partition I hadn't used in years that I could reformat). Installing the sdk went fine, but I couldn't get any of the code sourcery binaries to run. I'd done the multilib stuff...

recommendations sought for terrabyte external drives

Good advice. A restaurant in El Paso is not the best place to buy external hard drives. http://www.brick-n-mortar.com :)

Good films that are actually bad

There's the 1972 The Mechanic with Charles Bronson and the 2011 remake of it with Jason Statham. (Christian Bale wasn't in either of them, he was in The Machinist)

    American version of the inbetweeners

Several times. From wikipedia: Damn it, now I'm going to have nightmares about all my favourite english comedies being remade. :(

    God Speed Neil Armstrong

UK IT Crowd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqOf1_a5Z2w American IT Crowd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7vg1i83yek What's the point of remaking a show scene for scene but less funny? They got the Denholm Reynholm character completely wrong, virtually no intensity to him. Imagine him...

    Dark Souls PC.. resolution mod

From Gamespy's review of the pc version: I haven't tried it myself, but I've read that this is one of those games that doesn't restrict the mouse to the game screen, so multi monitor users will be frequently minimising the game by accident (whenever the cursor leaves the screen and they try to...

    Psygnosis is closed

Destruction Derby was developed by Reflections Interactive (they also did Shadow Of The Beast). Most of the games they are famous for were really only published by Psygnosis. They did develop some cool games though, like Obliterator (had a cool theme song) and Armour Geddon.

Did Sir Clive Have The Right Idea All Along?

The touch screen on the strike 7 seems to be at too steep an angle. Is it adjustable? Also, what's up with the asymmetrical space bar?

Did Sir Clive Have The Right Idea All Along?

Sorry, I can't hear you over the noise of my razer black widow mechanical keyboard. :) While there's a lot of crap keyboards these days, there's also a growing popularity in decent mechanical keyboards (either clicky ones like the black widow or silent ones like the corsair k90). Most of...

Pandora Crosscompiler Toolchain Based On Openpandora.org Ipks

I finally had some free time this weekend, so on saturday night I tried the toolchain script (on my laptop running 64 bit ubuntu 12.04). First time took around 3 hours to install, due to hunting down missing dependencies. But I eventually got it all installed and built a simple hello world...
