We must also remember the limited supply of assembled Pandoras and keep in mind that not everyone have video cameras. I really like it when ED does videos, they are always informative, well made and high quality. You can tell he has experience :)
Thanks for the fast reply ED :)
Netbook launcher is looking really sexy. All it needs is a useful "homepage", a clock and a taskbar and perhaps I will be using it instead of XFCE, or at least show it to others.
ED:
I have a few questions about the OS. On the SD card there are no subfolders inside the menu folder. Do these PND files show up inside the game manu because they are specified as games inside the file? Would it be possible for me to organize my files somehow? It would be really nice if I...
IIRC at least Windows (have no experience of other OSs) have for a very long time split up multiple single threaded programs to run on multiple cores/CPUs, improving the speed when running a bunch of stuff in the background.
I Guess you should have no problems with the Pandora, it's CE certified and it won't run as hot as a regular laptop. It does have built in WiFi and BT so you might wanna check the rules on those.
$25 on every unit makes $100'000 on 4'000 units. I guess you need that appstore to do really well to not only cover up the costs for the Pandora but to fund future hardware development.
Just adding to the GUI debate:
In Sweden we all say G.U.I. but with Swedish pronunciation making it much shorter and easier to say. Using Swedish pronunciation the English "word" would look something like this "GjiJuoAi" but the Swedish version looks like this "GeUI".
BTW, in Sweden we don't...
This poll is bad from the start. AppBox surly is a lot more popular then most of those names listed but it's not included. I've not even heard about half of them.
Yepp, which is why I'm not gonna bother everyone again with my requests :D Now I want my Pandora in my hands so I can better see what I'm missing.
I think a Power upgrade is better called 1.5 or something else other then 2. If they are going to say "this can do everything the first one can, and...
I was thinking start and select but thought the location was odd. I think you are missing out if you don't have pinball buttons on the sides, I'm looking forward to playing the classic Amiga pinball games on my Pandora :)
I guess you have a button on each side to work with pinball games? What are the two buttons on top for?
Oh, and looks really nice :) I would have used a different image though.
From my understanding they have moved from an old system to a new system. The new system is similar to many forums, you sign up and get an activation link emailed to you. Once I've logged in there are no fields to enter any information other then the comment. There should also be no offending...
The clamshell design is the best for the Pandora. It is the most practical because it allows for the largest possible screen, keyboard and battery without compromising gamecontrols or connectivity. If you want something between a portable console and a netbook then this is the only way to do it...
