Jitb - Java Based Flash Player

Jazelle won't work on the Pandora since it's proprietary (Nod51: I didn't actually look at what you linked to, only the URL) J2ME is not what we want because it's a reduced version of the standard Java platform that isn't compatible with anything. Java Embedded is what Oracle is trying to sell...

    Haskell And Xmonad On Pandora

I don't have a Pandora, so I can't do any development on my own, but it's definitely possible to cross-compile ghc (it uses autotools bootstrapping) and from there you just have to install cabal-install and compile anything (cabal-install is an environment that automatically compiles build...

It will be different in KDE 4.6, see my shot for more info: You'll of course be able to disable it - as much as you will be able to disable the plasma transparency if you want. I for one like it though, because normally you have a single-colored window, and that makes it stand out, so that you...

Beta Mandelbrot Set Generator For Pandora

It is documented, and it's kind of like an implicit rule anyways. The Free Desktop Specification used by all desktop environments (GNOME, KDE, XFCE, ...) states that the only supported formats for image data are PNG, XPM or SVG. PNG is for raster graphics, XPM for palleted images, and SVG for...

Beta Mandelbrot Set Generator For Pandora

Non-square icons are fine, but a default sizes of 64x64 or 128x128 are recommended. Never ever ever ever use anything except PNG for icons and preview pictures et cetera. JPG is not accepted. BMP is not accepted. It's the way the PND format was made; it uses a model similar to MPEG in that it's...

What's The Best Linux Distro To Use?

That's the page designer's fault. A web designer should adjust the layout to scale to different font sizes (the CSS em unit is used for that).

What's The Best Linux Distro To Use?

Guys, just change the fonts you're using, and enable sub-pixel anti-aliased rendering. As has been said before - there's nothing "magical" about Windows' font rendering. (Haiku's font rendering can be said to be magical, but I digress) Things can be quite easily tweaked. KDE font settings w/...

    Physics On The Pandora

BulletPhysics can be compiled with fixed-point arithmetic (theoretically at least ;) , there's one header with all of the typedefs) so it'd be a good candidate.

Sounds like the PHP engine for the forum crashed. Or maybe there was a database disconnect?

    Let's Play Webtrail!

Everyone seems to have given up on my challenge. http://www.ifitwasmyhome.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercator_projection http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finland http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux http://lwn.net/Distributions/ http://chakra-project.org/ Now, Wikipedia is boring, because...

    Let's Play Webtrail!

Completely random suggestion: http://www.ifitwasmyhome.com/ → http://chakra-project.org/ Good luck with that one :D It might be too difficult for you so feel free to ignore the suggestion. (Oh and I have the "solution" of course)

    First Try With Java

The Pandora should really have a JVM included in the NAND by default. ProGuard is useful and all, but if you have to bundle a whole VM with every PND you produce, it isn't going to help as much.

    Reconsider Android?

The Pandora wouldn't be able to run Android 3.0 anyways; it needs an 1GHz (for ARM at least) processor and 512 MiB of RAM. But the APIs are incredibly nice; a developers dream (as I've ranted about many times before) so it's really a pity.

    Rendering Engine

Has anyone tried OpenSceneGraph on the Pandora? It's not really wide-spread (yet) but it's by far the fastest OpenGL-based rendering engine I've ever seen, and it is extremely easy to use. I'd really like to see a port to the Pandora (OpenGL ES 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 are already fully supported...

(As a side note; I like how people just give suggestions like: "Do this, it's so easy, at least I think it was" and it's totally beside the point and they could've tested it themselves so easily etc. /rant) Firstly: If you want to use the GUI tool, use "sudo nvidia-settings" in a terminal, et...

    Panorama

I've ordered one like everyone else and should get one in (October? November? June?), and even if I had one right now, I probably wouldn't do Panorama stuff; don't have much time for Pandora related stuff at the moment.
