As was pointed out the last time this came up, flashy boot animations are not really an option. There is a tiny amount of space in the bootloader where you could load a static image or maybe an animated gif, but nothing like what has been suggested.
many demos are far smaller than your...
yes I know but you know as well as I know that people don't take things that way they take it as a sure thing ... when in fact it isn't all that likely since for the most part devs will each recompile themselves.... not like its a one man job anyway
@Chip acutally your overly positive now :-) it was discussed there would be little point in doing that since most of the SW is open source or will be ported so native pandora versions will be available therefore there is little incentive to create a gp2x virtualizer
@Chip cold you please lighten up a bit your posts are getting rediculously negative... have you ever seen what could be done on a c64 at 1 Mhz? ... surely the use of 10% of the CPU isn't gonna slow te boot that much which tends to be Disk strapped anyway
@God Ginrai but what if ti was Gogeta's post that propmted his post... XD
but enough of the OT please we'll eventually find out if it overclocks soon enough
uuuhh.. maybe you missed it but it can handle 1Gb on chip not 256Mb of course the fact is ... it has 256Mb from the factory so maybe that is what he ment... it isn't upgradeable you have to buy it with 1GB to get 1Gb etc...
It can handle more via enable lines externally from the SoC but i don`t remember where the exact specs are i thnk MWeston cleared that up when i asked awhile back... in the dev forum iirc
I think up to 1Gb on SoC + 1Gb is possible to add externally if you have the appopriate interfacing HW...
also iirc it isnt' regular DDR it is embedded low power DDR
adding more DDR on board was considered (I or someone else has asked this before.... do a search for it) and it turns out that adding expadable ram would add a LOT more chips onto the board and also greatly reduce battery life
@hells_dark select a weapon with the 2 3 4 keys 1 returns to no weapon perhaps... 1 should be a short range blow... controled also by the up down arrow keys ie punch, jab etc... would be a very desparate move though

the bunny film aka The Big Buck Bunny aka Peach
Since it is an "open source" it would make a good film to demo without worry of copyright infringement

no ARM designs are significantly different..... as far as i know arm uses hardwrired logic.. whereas x86 uses microcode leading to huge power usage and # of transistor differences for instance the current smallest arm cpu is only 12k transistors the cortex M0 running at 50mhz an only haveing the...
no the quake3 that you have seen is using nanogl which is just a wrapper to opengles and not a native port therefore probaby not wanted for inclusion in ioQuake3
