@Raz no that was with the old ni-cd batteries.... more like letting the battery stay charged for long periods without use is bad etc... they are made to be used
supposedly on these newer batteries you get a thousand full cycles or better meaning 2000 half charges 4000 quarter charges or 1000...
@Raz probably the one that runs faster and uses less battery.... which I have a strong hunch is Angstrom at least for now anyway... who knows the ubuntu guys could do a 180 and become a lightweight contender crazier stuff has happened

@sinbad how exactly are debian lenny`s packages that old now...it was just released KDE4 is a waste of time still at this point for most people
the only Arch install I have at this point is my grandpaw's computer with KDE4 and it is quite sluggish on a celeron/2.4ghz/512mb ram ... got the old...
@lulzfish using a rolling release like Arch require you pay attention to things as they get updated more than on say Ubuntu or Debian where they updates are pretty stable an tested for everybody ... for instance the when LXDE got updated back in December on Arch my menus went bye-bye even after...
well on ArchLinux all the packages you install are optionally kept in a cache in /var so you can easily roll back if something borks up
The reason stuff breaks when installing from another distro on ubuntu is the sheer amount of hacks they apply instead of getting the upstream version working...
they obviously already have it ported... did nobody see the tegra videos with flash in a browser (today engadget )?
it is probaly a matter of bugs/optimisation

there isn't exactly anything wrong with your idea except that the TI OMAP3530 isn't all that different from snapdragon (some pandoras have already clocked upto 900mhz)... it has just come up about 30+ times already and it really is too soon

@cools1987 in the news section there is uuh news that the beagleboard (pandora's next of kin ) has the DSP codecs working so there will proababy be a package to install has them
FYI the DSP codecs use like 15% of the CPU to playback HD xvid iirc and the rest of the load is put on the DSP dunno...
Regarding the above misunderstandings about Dreamcast and Windows
It is NOT regular Windows it is Windows CE and a few games run on it and it will not run regular windows programs
now for the second part It would be impossible to Legally distribute a runnable Windows CE on the emulator since...
It may be able to emulate the PS3 but that color is just horrid

Alsa is just a pain with ISA for no real reason ie BeOS detected my yahmaha ISA sound by default perhaps they had some proprietary know how though it is supposed to be supported by alsa have tried all...
@streak there is no wifi in Haiku because there is no wifi support at all yet... there is a guy working on it now for is thesis porting the FreeBSD Wifi stack so you should have wifi by the end of the year since thats about when he has to be done iirc hes doing an atheros driver port 5k series...
